The Toasted Hostess

 <itunes:author>Deborah Gee</itunes:author>

The Corkscrew Diary........
..... is a series of one half-hour television shows that are both
enticing to the senses and informative with their view. The Corkscrew
Diary engages the essence of vineyard and vintner bringing not only a
‘featured’ wine to the fore but qualities of the regions in which
the soil, root and passions bare fruit.
The Corkscrew Diary opens a world of wine and story by introducing
the people who nurture the vines and finesse the cellars. In their own
words, vintners will describe the heritage and life of the vineyards
and their pursuit of the perfect wine all while touring the grounds -
eventually closing the show by breaking bread in a special and
distinctive setting.
The Corkscrew Diary serves not only as a showcase for vineyards and
their fine works, but as an exotic travel log as well. Embrace stories
of manor homes, souls, cellars and cuisine from the West Cape of
Africa to the Tuscan hills, Napa Valley to the valley of the Saar and
the heights of the Chilean Andes.
The Corkscrew Diary is a veritable cornucopia of exquisite offerings
from around the globe. A bottle purchased from a purveyor of fine wine
will tell its own story. The Corkscrew Diary reveals a virtual
personal tour of the processes and passions that bring the life to
that bottle. The Corkscrew Diary runs fingers through soil, raises
stems to the storied and salutes everyday life in the finest vineyards
of the world.

The sunrise was absolutely breath taking. Not only were there lush fields of cultivars, but also the estate grounds posses lavish gardens of herbs and flowers and historic buildings of the Old Netherlands style Allee Bleue is a relatively young endeavor – five years of age. But, the awards and accolades of finest quality and maturity found the estate in the first vintage year of its existence.
