  1 cup brown sugar
  1 stick of butter
  1/4 cup light corn syrup
  1/2 teaspoon salt
  1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  large paper grocery bag

Pop the corn. Place in the paper bag and set aside.

Combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt (NOT THE BAKING SODA
YET!) in a large microwave-safe bowl. Cook on high in the microwave
until butter is melted and mixture comes to a boil. Mix completely,
then microwave an additional 2 minutes on high.

Remove from microwave and stir in baking soda. Mix well. Mixture
will form tiny bubbles and lighten in color. Mix well.

Pour the syrup over the corn in the paper bag. Stir a bit with a
long handled spoon to get it going. Then close the bag and shake it
around a while to mix well.

Put bag into the microwave and cook on high for 2 more minutes. If
it won’t fit in the microwave, you can skip this step and it will
still be good.

Give it one final mix and then pour it out into a huge bowl on onto
a cookie sheet and let it cool. Or burn you mouth eating it right away
because that is when it tastes the best.

Muwahaha! It’s October - the creepiest month of all. Let’s get
down and Gothy, shall we? This time we interview a brave soul who
visited one of the scariest places on earth [1] , and lived to tell
about it. Costumes, horror movies, and a real, live ghost story,
we’ve got it all. Neil goes mainstream for an attractive man [2] ,
and tells why Scifi.com makes him cry himself to sleep at night [3] .
Dust off those broomsticks and make nice with the zombies – it’s
Halloween!
