McFadden suffered an open dislocation in a bar parking lot fight late last month. Arkansas head trainer Dean Weber said that McFadden is already wearing street shoes with a small steel insert. Weber also said the plan for McFadden is to first get him walking without pain, then jogging, then running, and then making quick cuts. Once McFadden has achieved that he will be cleared to practice with his teammates. It is still unlikely that McFadden will be ready for the opener against USC on September 2nd.

Injury report: Anthony Brown, Ryan Powers and Weston Dacus returned to practice this week after sitting out most of this fall with injuries.

London Crawford however, missed today's practice to get an MRI on his knee. The injury has kept him out of all but a couple of the pre-season practices so far.

Freshman, Ben Cleveland has been moved to WR from TE. This way he doesn't have to learn all the complicated blocking assignments that are required of a TE. Walk-on TE Andrew Davie has played well in the preseason giving the depth necessary at TE to allow Cleveland's move.

ESPN's Football Draft Analyst Mel Kiper has selected three Razorbacks as top picks in the 2008 NFL Draft. Each year at this time Mel takes a close look at the Junior class to see who will be future first and second round draft picks. Peyton Hillis was ranked the #1 FB, Marcus Monk was ranked the #4 WR, and Marcus Harrison was ranked the # DT out all Juniors in the nation.

Hog pitchers Nick Schmidt and Shaun Seibert looked good this summer. Schmidt went 3 - 1 including the final victory for team USA in the World Baseball Championships. He boasted an ERA of under 2. Shaun Seibert also pitched well this summer in the Cape Cod league, one of the top summer baseball leagues for collegiate players. Seibert was named the league's top pitcher. So congratulations to Shaun and Nick!!

Question of the Week

Is Saturday's practice debacle a good thing for the Razorbacks, in the long run, or is it an indication that we may have too high expectations.

E-Mail

The Jason segment
Vance

Outro

check out our website, www.razorbackcast.com

Vote for the RazorbackCast on Podcast Alley

Get RazorbackCast schwag at the store, link on the site or got to www.cafepress.com/razorbackcast

E-Mail us @ razorbackcast@gmail.com

Special thanks goes to Mitekz.com for sponsoring our bandwidth

Tell a friend about the RazorbackCast

Many of the Wildcat's best players are returning after off-season surgery, including top player, Rafael Little, 1st Team All-SEC pick at TE, Jacob Tamme and top WR Keenan Burton. Kentucky's defense ranked last in the league in every major category.
LSU
Alley Broussard, LSU's leading rusher from 2004 who missed all of last season returns. QB JaMarcus Russell is the starter but many fans want Peach Bowl MVP, Maqtt Flynn to get the nod. There could be a contoversy because Russell is coming off wrist surger. 3rd teamer Ryan Perrilloux is a former Parade All American. LSU's Offensive Line must replace 4 starters, it's Defensive Line 3 and it's Linebacking corps 2. Razorback Football Position by Position Preview
Offensive Line
Athlon's Ranks the Hog's Offensive Line the best in the SEC The Hogs return 4 of 5 starters on the OL, and return Zac Tubbs who was a starter (and pre-season all conference pick) before injury ended his season. RG Robert Felton, C Jonathan Luigs and Tubbs are all picked to one of Athlon's Preseason All Conference teams. Tony Ugoh and Stephen Parker are both seniors and may actually be better. The depth on the line is also good, with JR. Nate Garner, SR. Chase Pressley and SR. Jeremy Harrell and Sophomore Jose Valdez all getting valuable playing time last year. The OL helped the Hogs lead the SEC in Rushing again last year. They will have to improve their pass blocking in Malzahn's new offense. Outro

check out our website, www.razorbackcast.com

Vote for the RazorbackCast on Podcast Alley

www.hognation.net

Get RazorbackCast schwag at the store, link on the site or got to www.cafepress.com/razorbackcast

E-Mail us @ razorbackcast@gmail.com

Special thanks goes to Mitekz.com for sponsoring our bandwidth

Tell a friend about the RazorbackCast

He was the first Razorback in history to make the national team.

The Football Hogs added another verbal committment for the 2007 recruiting class. Shiloh Christian Wide Reciever, Crosby Tuck became the 7th committment for the Hogs.

3 Football Hogs named Rivals.com pre-season All Americans.

Breaking News
Hoops Hogs may get big committment for upcoming recruiting season. Kodi Augustus, a 6' 9 combo forward from Louisianna will make his announcement Friday afternoon and is rumored to be planning to pick the Hogs over Texas, Florida, LSU and Texas A & M. Augustus is formerly of Louisianna and is the cousin of ex-LSU women's star Simone Augustus. Last year at Willowridge High School in Houston Texas he averaged 18 points, 10 rbs, 5 steals and 4 blocks per game. He plans to attend prep-school this fall.

Pre-Season SEC Football Preview

S. Carolina

Jr. QB Blake Mitchell will be one of the top passing QBs in the conference. Last year he threw for 2,370 yards, 17 TDs and 12 INTs. He will be throwing to the top returning WR in the conference, Sindney Rice who caught 70 balls for 1,143 yards and 13 TDs in his freshman season.

Tyrone Nix, former Defensive Coordinator at S. Miss takes over that position at S. Carolina after sharing the title with John Thompson last year. Thompson has left the staff.

TB Corey Boyd who was suspended all of last year returns. He was the teams 2nd leading rusher and reciever in 2004 and is a big play threat.

2006 Football Hogs' Position by Position Preview- Linebackers

Rated 5th best group of LBs in SEC by Athlons; SLB Freddie Fairchild (SO.), MLB Desmond Sims (Sr.), WLB Sam Olajubutu (Sr.). Olajubutu is an All-American candidate and was All Conference last year. He lead the team and was 3rd in the SEC in tackles. Fairchild has All-Conference potential. Sims was a starter at DE last year. Weston Dacus is the only experienced backup on the team. One or more incoming freshman will see lots of playing time. Wendel Davis and Van Stumon seem the most likely to provide depth but Adrian Davis, Chip Gregory, and Ryan Powers (who may take a shot at TB first) all will get a look. Former Arkansas High School Defensive Player of the Year and LSU transfer, Matt Stoltz could see more playing time this year.

RazorbackCast Question of the Week

Who will be lead the Hog's in tackles in 2006?

E-Mail

Vance from Springfield weighs in on a number of topics from last week and sends us a line for a Hog Football Preview.

Outro

check out our website, www.razorbackcast.com

Vote for the RazorbackCast on Pod Cast Alley

www.hognation.net

Get RazorbackCast schwag at the store, link on the site or got to www.cafepress.com/razorbackcast

E-Mail us @ razorbackcast@gmail.com

Special thanks goes to Mitekz.com for sponsoring our bandwidth

Tell a friend about the RazorbackCast
