The biggest news story of the week is Apple. According to several reports and "official sources," Apple is planning a major event and announcement on January 26th, 2010 in San Francisco. As many of you know, this early afternoon, news broke on Twitter regarding Brittany Murphy's death. She was only 32 and many of her fans are absolutely shocked. That said, why did Twitter play such an important role? The iPhone 3G and 2G finally has a legit iPhone app in the App Store that allows you to record video! It's not as good (quality) as the 3GS video, but if you've been wanting a video recorder in your current non 3GS iPhone, this is the app you need. So glad the App Store finally approved it - check out my homemade vids I made with this new app.

Also, Microsoft's very popular search engine, Bing.com, has branched out and created their very own iPhone Bing App. It has voice activated commands for BROWSING the internet, voice commands for interactive maps and several other features (image search, etc) that Google's iPhone App does not have. In other tech news, McDonald's announces they will no longer charge for WiFi access in their restaurants so that the "Starbucks coffee crowd" will go to McD's and surf the web while sipping on McCafe's rather than spend more money at Starbucks. Do you think this move will help McD's or will it still just be a fast food restaurant with free WiFi?

It's a busy week for tech news and the biggest news goes to Facebook. With over 350 million users, there's quite a lashing from FB users due to FB changing its privacy policies. They now default everyone's profile to be viewed by EVERYONE, including search engines. I'll show you how you can change this back to a more private setting, if you wish to do so.

Also, AT&T, in their dumbest move yet, released a statement yesterday "blaming" iPhone users for "bogging down their network." They claim that heavy data users are potentially getting a cap and that our iPhone data plan may increase. If this happens, who wants to bet the Droid will be the #1 smart phone device? Better news for iPhone users is we finally have livestreaming!

After a year of waiting, Ustream's iPhone app (and Qik, another great livestreaming company) have apps that finally allow the iPhone 3GS to broadcast video live to the world. Last but not least, the entire country of Norway thought they may be under attack Tuesday night... by a UFO or some type of apocalyptic doom. Photos and video flooded Norway's TV stations and 911 centers due to an unbelievable spiral in the sky - you'll have to see this to believe it. And we found out what it was... very odd indeed.

Twitter and Facebook have the potential to really break a news story even before CNN, MSNBC or even Reuters. The problem, as we've discussed, is when idiots or accidents happen causing rumors to spread like wildfire, such as what happened with actor Zach Braff (on Scrubs) and his supposed "suicide." Thanks to a prankster who posted a link on Twitter, thousands if not millions of people began to spread the demise of Zach Braff all over the web. Here's how Zach addressed the rumors - by another popular social networking site, YouTube.

T-Mobile's servers, which are hosted on Microsoft's servers, were not backed up properly when they did an upgrade to the Sidekick service prompting every single user to lose his/her photos, contacts, calendars and other personal information that was stored in their "cloud server" (like the iPhone, all this info can be 'synced' to a cloud computer - aka a server - elsewhere) and unfortunately, T-Mobile is telling Sidekick users "SORRY!" Doubt that's going to help much! Ouch!

In tech news, the war of words began this morning when a blogger from ZDNet.com (owned by CNET and CBS) claimed they've uncovered Yahoo.com's deepest and darkest secrets. An inside source (in Iran) of the blogger claimed he had proof that Yahoo sold over 200,000 Iranian accounts to the Iran government during the fighting and botched elections which sparked massive protests, unfair jailing and torturing as well as death. ZDnet's blogger claimed he knew that if all pans out, this would be the damning news that would literally put Yahoo out of business since this would most definitely be considered a major human rights violation. That said, within a few hours of the blog post (spread all over the web by Twitter and Facebook), the story was retracted by ZDNet's Editor in Chief due to Yahoo's pressure stating they undeniably claim this rumor is absurd and false... and oh yeah, the blogger didn't even call Yahoo for investigation or comments and his 1 source, well lets just say he must not have been too trustworthy. A huge ouch to ZDNet, CNET and CBS.

Paranormal Activity, the low budget movie that has received more buzz than any scary movie since Blair Witch Project, is trying to get Twitter and Facebook friends to visit their site to demand that they get the film into national release. Currently, it's only playing in select cities, but if the producers get 1 million clicks, then they will release this unbelievably scary movie to the public all over the nation. Check out this trailer - and hold on to your seat!

Last but not least, Vimeo announced they are launching a Desktop App that will allow all Vimeo users to directly upload multiple HD files from their desktop directly to their Vimeo account. Within minutes, you can have 5 HD movies up and running and waiting to be viewed, shared or even embedded - we have all the details and when the app will be released.

Also, in tech news, Adobe announced the very hyped Flash 10: the most advanced, up-to-date desktop and smartphone software that allows full HD viewing and will run smoothly on most of the smart phones we have.... all except, you got it! The iPhone. There's a catch, though: Apple refuses to let iPhone users browse with flash but has agreed to allow Flash 10 in a way that only Apple would allow...watch to find out!

Researchers at GA Tech have done something so unbelievable to Google Earth that it literally takes it out of this world. They've learned "augmented 3D reality" and incorporated it directly within the Google Earth application. Instead of seeing a city's satellite static pictures, you can now see REAL TIME, REAL PEOPLE, REAL WEATHER in a REAL area in Google Maps. Researchers are even working on real weather conditions on any given location within Google Earth. The video I have to show you is only just the beginning.

Also, AT&T is getting some much deserved negative press - dropped 3G calls, no MMS promised to iPhone 3G users until 9/25/09. So what did they do? They've hired Steve the Blogger - you have to check out Steve's reasons why your iPhone doesn't REALLY have MMS and why your 3G drops calls for no apparent reason.

Finally, if you happened to be at the best NFL college stadium in the world, the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, TX - you will notice one thing - a huge HDTV. Too bad, though, because most fans at the OU/BYU game noticed a huge Microsoft error floating around the entire parameters - looks like the game got put on hold due to Microsoft's wonderful software (video and photos included in the show!) Ouch!

Also, Apple has a huge event tomorrow - 09/09/09 - and it will center around new iPods with new cameras, iTunes 9 which we discussed a few episodes ago and many other new features up Steve Jobs' sleeve. Yes, many believe and have reported that the moxie of the moxies will attend this event. We will know tomorrow (or today) if you're reading this on Wednesday!

Best Buy may join the likes of Blockbuster, Netflix and even iTunes by selling web-serviced downloads for movies and TV shows, according to several reports and we tell you why we think it may not work.

Yahoo launched a brand new Twitter app called Sideline. It's made with Adobe Air which allows for beautiful applications on PC or Mac's desktop. Sideline isn't your typical Twitter app though. It monitors the public timeline and assesses trends day-to-day on Twitter. It could definitely have more options, but it is in beta and it's a free download here.

Also, Dell's highly anticipated Adamo has come out and it carries a very high price tag and looks very similar to the Macbook Air. The very slin design comes packed with the latest in processing and has a solid-state hard drive as well. The Mac Pro got updated as well for the professional graphics moxies and you guys will love this power house: Quad-Core Intel Xeon 3500 processor, 3GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 120, 640GB hard drive. The lower end Mac Pro will cost $2,500.

The Mac Mini, which is my favorite Apple announcement, has completely been refreshed with moxieness.
