Jackie and Martina Interview Black Tide at Warped Tour in San Francisco

<p align=/"center/">BLACK TIDE
<p align=/"center/">Light From Above

<p align=/"center/">Gabriel Garcia - lead vocals, guitar
<p align=/"center/">Zakk Sandler - bass
<p align=/"center/">Steven Spence - drums
<p align=/"center/">Austin Diaz - guitar

Black Tide come out of the gate with all guns blazing. Their Interscope Records debut, Light from Above,/nis a loaded salvo of fret-burning, hyper-charged riffs. The Florida/nquartet churns out fist-pumping, fast-paced metallic anthems with no/nremorse. Their sound channels the forefathers of heavy metal, but with/na dose of 21st century attitude.

Cuts like /"Shockwave,/" /"Warriors of Time/" and /"Show Me The Way/" pack enough explosive energy to ignite any crowd.

Vocalist/nand guitarist Gabriel started singing and playing guitar at/neight-years-old, and he knew that/'s what he was meant to do the second/nhe donned an axe. /"When I started playing, I was like, /'This is what I/nhave to do./' I don/'t want to be a fucking lawyer or some shit like/nthat. I told my family I wanted to play heavy metal. My parents have/nsupported my decision the whole time. Anyone else would/'ve been like,/n/'Shut up! Go to school!/'/"

Gabriel/'s intense immersion/ninto music has paid off. He formed Black Tide along with bassist Zakk/nSandler and original guitarist Alex Nunez in 2003. Drummer Steven/nSpence would join their ranks in 2006, and after an incendiary/nperformance at that year/'s Florida Music Festival, Interscope signed/nthe band. Black Tide recorded their debut, Light from Above, at/nGroovemaster Studios, with Johnny K (Disturbed, Machine Head, Soil) in/n2007. As soon as it was finished, the four lads hit the road on OZZfest/n2007/'s main stage alongside Ozzy Osbourne, Lamb of God and Static-X./nImmediately, they began to build a buzz because of their no-holds/nbarred approach to infectious, arena-ready heavy metal.

Zakk/nsums up the band/'s sound perfectly. /"Black Tide sounds like four pissed/noff teenagers who listen to too much good music. When we come together,/nwe make something special. We love Iron Maiden, Pantera, Metallica and/nGuns /'N/' Roses, but we don/'t try to be anything we/'re not. We just get/nup on stage and do what we love./"

Leading up to Light from Above/'s/nMarch 18, 2008 release, the band toured with the likes of Avenged/nSevenfold, Bullet for My Valentine and All that Remains. Garnering/ninstant acclaim, Light From Above sent a /"shockwave/" of its own through the scene. Rolling Stone named Black Tide one of the “Best Rookies of 2008” and “Metal’s New Teen Titans,” Spin tapped them as one of the “Next Big Things,” while Revolver featured them as a “Band To Watch” and included them on the cover of the August 2008 Mayhem issue, and Kerrang! proclaimed them “Best International Newcomer.” The band followed its release with an appearance on the inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival alongside Slipknot and Disturbed as well as playing the main stage of Download 2008.

After Download,/nAlex and the band amicably parted ways. Black Tide added guitarist/nAustin Diaz to the fold, and he/'s been the perfect fret foil for/nGabriel. /"Austin is awesome. He learned all of our songs in two days,/nbefore the first date of Mayhem. We played the show, and he killed it,/" Gabriel says.

In/nthe end, Black Tide are ready for anything. Gabriel/'s excited for what/nthe future holds. /"The band is so united now. We/'ve never been together/nlike this before. Black Tide/'s stronger than ever./" That strength will/nonly lead to bigger and better things. Zakk concludes, /"The kids want/nmore, and I want more out of us everyday. We/'re like that arena rock/nband who just hasn/'t made it to the arenas, yet./" It/'s only a matter of/ntime until they do.

<p align=/"center/"><a href=/"http://www.blacktidemusic.com//">www.blacktidemusic.com

Bayside Interview at Warped Tour San Francisco - Emo Girl TV

 <itunes:author>Martina Butler</itunes:author>

Martina and Jackie interview Bayside at Warped Tour San Francisco 2009

About Bayside:

<img src=/"http://images.victoryrecords.com/artists/1005.jpg/" height=/"233/" width=/"350/" alt=/"1005.jpg/" />

When punk rock judgment day comes, everyone knows which side of the/nfence BAYSIDE will be on… the legitimate one. The current state of rock/nmusic has left acts in a never-ending sea of “genres,” and this current/nstate of affairs has resulted in numerous bands tailoring their look/nand sound into something that can be labeled. Artists are unjustly/npigeonholed and careers are shortened as a result. But amazingly,/nBAYSIDE has prevailed as rock’s leading indefinable, working class,/nrelateable rock heroes.

/nSince their inception on Long Island one fateful winter day in 2000,/nBAYSIDE has become the voice for the misanthropic and the hopeful/nalike. Having released four studio albums with Victory Records since/nsigning on in 2003, BAYSIDE has sold over a quarter-of-a-million/nrecords and has become one of the most likable bands in the industry./nThe non-fickle foursome remain loyal to their long-time fans, dubbed/n“The Cult”, yet they manage to convert new followers every day. The/nloyalty extends not only to their fans, but also to each other, as/nBAYSIDE stays together like a band of brothers, even during times of/ntragedy.

/nIn 2005, a tragic auto accident resulted in the death of John “Beatz”/nHolohan, the band’s drummer. The loss took an immense toll on the/nremaining members. After an understandable grieving period and the/ndifficult task of choosing a replacement in Chris Guglielmo, the band/nbuckled down and rediscovered their art. The result, appropriately/ntitled The Walking Wounded,/nwas released in early February 2007 to critical acclaim. The album/nfound the band not explicitly focusing on their tragic loss, but/ninstead on survival and progression. BAYSIDE toured incessantly in/nsupport of The Walking Wounded and hit the mainstream with full/nforce. Appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, MTV’s TRL and/nSteven’s Untitled Rock Show on Fuse shifted BAYSIDE into the limelight./nThe whirlwind, although welcomed, did result in a slightly unorthodox,/nat least for BAYSIDE, course to writing the follow-up, Shudder.

/n“We had the least amount of time at home to work on the songs that/nwe’ve ever had,” says lead vocalist Anthony Raneri. “But, this was the/nfirst time we actually had a little studio on the bus to write on tour,/nso we wound up spending almost a year on tour writing for the album./nThis is definitely our best material to date.”

Shudder hit the masses on September 30th, 2008. BAYSIDE decided/nto take a different, sunny approach to recording this time around,/nopting to record the masterpiece, their fourth full-length studio/nalbum, in a location quite different than what they were used to. As a/nresult, the Santa Monica-based Red Bull Studios was chosen as the venue/nand the album was recorded over a six week period of time with producer/nDave Schiffman (Weezer, Jimmy Eat World, Johnny Cash). Although the/nband recorded on the left coast as opposed to their usual right, the/nmethod ironically brought BAYSIDE back to a familiar place.

/n“We really just wanted to make a record that would bring us back to our/nroots,” said Raneri. “I tried to take the knowledge of song writing/nthat I have now and blend it with the raw energy and intuitions I wrote/nwith when I was 17 and make a smart punk record. Whenever I had a doubt/nabout where to go, I would say ‘What would Bayside do?’ and I’d go back/nand listen to older Bayside stuff. We weren’t trying to reinvent the/nwheel, just put some new tires on it./"

/nAlongside the release of Shudder was the release of Live At The Bayside Social Club,/na collection of recordings from their August 2008 performance in New/nYork City. The live album includes songs from each of their studio/nalbums and is a must have for Bayside fans everywhere who crave hearing/ntheir high energy live show between tours.
/n

<a href=/"http://www.victoryrecords.com/bayside/" target=/"_blank/">WEBSITE

<a href=/"http://www.myspace.com/bayside/" target=/"_blank/">MYSPACE

For more Warped Tour Interviews go to <a href=/"http://www.emogirltalk.com/" target=/"_blank/">EMOGIRLTALK.COM

I'm a small girl who dwells in Toronto. I make music with a computer and a couple sweet synths. I also play whatever other sound makers I can get my pincers on. Making music has been my crutch/drug/vent/vice for my whole life. Most of what you hear starts, and is often finished, in my room (wherever that may be, I relocate like a hermit crab). When I write songs I think about how my music makes people feel, and I hope that when it goes into your ears you feel happy. Not sexy happy but apple pie happy. If I'm sad then the last thing I want is to be made even more sad by music. If my music could be drawn I would picture it like a comic, with simple border lines and bright colors. On first glance there is a nice composition, but upon closer inspection there is a deeper story.

When performing live, I could do everything myself if I were a squid, but I am only a hermit crab and I only have two arms. So there are two dashing musicians that join me on stage named Maurie and Adam. I am the littlest one on stage. But that only means that there is more stellar packed into each square inch. After a long time in the lab, I am finally releasing my first EP. This world is a little dark, and I am LIGHTS.

CONTACT INFO
Manager - Jian Ghomeshi: jian@jian.ca
Booking - Jack Ross: jackross@theagencygroup.com

For more Warped Tour Interviews go to Emo Girl TV on MEVIO

Millionaires Interview at Warped Tour San Francisco 2009

 <itunes:author>Martina Butler</itunes:author>

Martina and Jackie interview the Millionaires at Warped Tour in San Francisco 2009

 Millionaires Myspace

About The Millionaires

Millionaires started on the beautiful day of August 14th 2007. It was a quite sunny day, just like any other day in Huntington Beach, California; a perfect day to fly a medium-sized vibrant rainbow butterfly kite. But instead, Melissa and Allison Green (yes, they're sisters) started to become inquisitive about their new Apple desktop and decided to "fuck around" on Garageband. After two hours of intense physical labor filled with blood, sweat and piss, they came up with the first hit, 'I Like Money.' They decided that maybe since the Garageband loops and vocal recordings (aka yelling at the Apple desktop monitor since they had no recording system whatsoever) were SO AMAZING, they should make a music Myspace. They realized, upon creating the Myspace, that they did not have an extravagant name to go along with their new hit. The two quickly decided upon Millionaires because it tied into the name of the song, 'I Like Money.' Within hours after posting the first song, they received a shit load of online attention and within weeks, were already on the Myspace Top Artist Charts.

The day after they posted their first song, Dani Artaud (Melissa’s best friend) let herself into the Green's unlocked household, as usual, since it's part of her daily routine. Together as one, the three jammed to the new song. They were so inspired by their new creation of musical beauty, that they decided to make a new track in hopes that Baby Jesus would continue to hover over them. The three new band mates quickly shat out 'Hoe Down' within hours and posted it immediately that night. After that, their shit just took off.

Over the next few months, when they had enough songs to play a show, they met up with DJ Hyphy Crunk, who immediately took them under his great bountiful wing. After some intense training and tests of strength and merit, they decided they were ready to play some hardcore shows. Towards the end of November, they played their first show at The Joint and the next night played at The Roxy in Hollywood. Their good friend Mark Maxwell attended the first two shows and after watching the positive reactions from the fans, decided to spice up their music a little. He first remixed 'Alcohol', and the online frenzy began to grow even more. After that, they decided to make Mark their producer. Millionaires' fan base continued to grow at an alarming pace as did the popularity of Hyphy Crunk's nightclub, The Heist. The band and Hyphy Crunk decided they each needed to focus on their individual priorities and decided to split ways while Sarah Mclaughlin was playing in the background. From that point on, Mark Maxwell took a hold of the demon reigns of the flaming Millionaires caravan careening straight to hell. On this demented course towards fame, they got swooped up by the Artery Foundation, One Moment Management, and The Agency Group. Now the girls' paths were clear. They took their next step and made their first music video to their hit 'Alcohol.' After only 6 grueling months of being together, they landed a spot on Bamboozle Left '08. The girls took that stage and made it their bitch for the night. They were now ready to tackle the treacherous task of tour.

They set out on their first two week co-headlining tour in July ‘08 with nothing but themselves, a rental van and a pink bedpan. The tour was sold out almost every night. This is probably because of their irresistible attraction to complete negligence of the laws in these United States of America. During the tour, they were asked to perform live on MTV's TRL, which was probably the most horrifyingly terrific situation of their young lives. They also took that stage and proceeded to make it their bitch as well. During the course of this tour, they also released their first digital EP-"Bling Bling Bling" into online music stores worldwide. On their break from tour, the girls were featured on the cover of Bakatopia Magazine, had a article in the OC Weekly, did interviews on DJ Rosstar's Internet Radio show as well as Forbidden Radio, and played the LA Pre-Warped Tour Party with Shwayze and 3OH!3.

As of now, the girls are back at home in their hell holes constantly slaving over their next biggest hit. Who knows what controversial shenanigans these girls will come up with next!

 For more Warped Tour interviews, check out http://emogirltv.mevio.com

Jackie and Martina Interview Buddy from Less Than Jake at the 2009 Van's Warped Tour - EmoGirl TV

<font size=/"2/">Jackie and Martina bring you another great interview from the 2009 Van/'s Warped Tour. In this episode, the girls interview Buddy from Less Than Jake.

<font size=/"2/">

<font size=/"2/">BIO: (from <a href=/"http://www.lessthanjake.com/about//">lessthanjake.com)

<font size=/"2/">

<font size=/"2/">Chris - Vocals/Guitar
Roger - Bassist/Guitar
JR - Saxophone
Buddy - Trombone
Vinnie - Drums

It/'s been a wild and crazy ride for Gainesville/'s Less Than Jake, who first met at the University Of Florida over a decade and a half ago. But instead of kicking their feet up and resting on their laurels, the ever-busy quintet have been working hard on the next chapter of Less Than Jake. Successfully extricating themselves from their major label contract (even though they still owed one more record to the label), they started their own label, Sleep It Off Records, and now are in the driver/'s seat. /"After a decade an a half of being in the band, we are now our own bosses for real and the excitement of that can peel paint off the walls,/" says drummer Vinnie.

Before the band starts recording a new album this Spring (for release in the Summer 2008), however, they are planning the re-release of albums from their catalog… and first up are Pezcore, Losers, Kings and Things We Don/'t Understand, Goodbye Blue and White, and the DVD The People/'s History of Less Than Jake (more re-releases are planned for the future). /"We wanted to start with Losers, Kings, And Things We Don/'t Understand, which was our first recorded material as a band,/" Vinnie continues. /"These literally are some of the first songs we recorded together, and it seemed obvious that it should be one of the first releases on our newly started record label Sleep It Off. As a musician, the fact that I can help not only in creative marketing but release the actual audible history of our band on our own label is mind blowing. I think it/'s a great time for the Music Industry that, despite the lagging sales, you are allowed to write and rewrite the rules. These days, it/'s like the Old West, so to speak./"

Through their decade and a half career, they/'ve traveled the world multiple times -- with the Warped Tour, opening for Bon Jovi, and as headliners. /"Each record is a snapshot of who the band is and was at the moment of writing and recording,/" Vinnie says. And what better way to revisit their history than with a fresh new take on their old material. Each re-release will come with all new artwork and a bonus DVD of previously unreleased material.

/"If you look at the career of our band you have the roots of the tree and that/'s our initial inspiration that we used for the band, which was East Bay pop/punk; Screeching Weasel, early Green Day, Operation Ivy,/" Vinnie says. /"If you look at that as the roots, then you have our career as the body of the tree, and the leaves are the latest inspirations of things, whether they/'re friends, family, or whatever./"

/"People have a preconceived notion that Less Than Jake is a ska/punk band, that we/'re wacky and silly, and that may be a certain side of ourselves live, but there/'s also another side and that/'s a beautiful thing about our band - it/'s multi-headed,/" he says proudly. /"We can be different things at different times; we can be socially relevant and we can still be musically relevant 16 years after being together, still progressing musically, not only as players, but as far as musical direction. We can jump outside the box of what people expect, and now that we/'re in control, what you/'ll be getting is Less Than Jake -unfiltered and over-amplified./"

<font size=/"2/"><a href=/"http://www.lessthanjake.com//">OFFICIAL SITE

<font size=/"2/"><a href=/"http://www.myspace.com/lessthanjake/">MYSPACE

<font size=/"2/"><a href=/"http://www.last.fm/music/Less+Than+Jake/">LAST FM

<font size=/"2/">Follow MEVIO Music on <a href=/"http://twitter.com/meviomusic/">Twitter, as well as <a href=/"http://twitter.com/jackiehollywood/">Jackie and <a href=/"http://twitter.com/emogirltalk/">Martina.

<font size=/"2/">

<font size=/"2/">For more great music news, information, and videos: check out the <a href=/"http://meviomusic.mevio.com//">MEVIO Music Blog.

He is an Internet celebrity known for his popularity on MySpace as well as his fashion line and from his transgressive, genderfuck and gender-bending appearance and persona while calling himself "Queen of the Internet" and "Queen of the Beautifuls".
