Welcome to the second successful recording of Echo Romeo Kilo since Erk's return to Australia. This episode was recorded using Erk's new iPhone, an iPhone application called iTalk Lite and a lapel micrphone. This episode starts at Town Hall station. Then Erk goes to Kings Cross which is Sydney's red light district. The episode was recorded just before sunset on a Saturday night. A few hours into the future and the episode may have been sounding a lot different! The ambient noise (and the area, for that matter) was a lot quieter than Erk expected. The time of day and the rainy weather might have had something to do with that. You may notice some language in this one, especially when Erk walks past a verbal argument between a homeless guy and an elderly man.

Welcome to the first successful recording of Echo Romeo Kilo since Erk's return to Australia. A few days before this episode, Erk recorded at Westiefield but it was full of FAIL. This episode was recorded using Erk's new iPhone, an iPhone application called iTalk Lite and a lapel micrphone. This episode starts in a train between Strathfield and Central. Erk starts by sitting in the passenger area where it is a lot quieter on these intercity trains. Then he moves into the area behind the driver's cab near the passenger doors where the ambient noise increases. Erk then walks from the intercity platforms to the suburban platforms and catches a train to Town Hall. After a couple of Channel Erk promos (including the new promo for Echo), some hours have passed. In the second half of the episode (that was actually recorded after Echo 50), Erk spends some time on the suburban platforms at Central station.

While Erk was walking in downtown San Francisco, I walked into a protest. Normally I steer clear of such protests or don't have time to stop. But today I decided to stop and get out my camera and Zoom H4 recorder. The protest was about the current global financial situation and the bailout of various banks here in America. I wasn't there for the start of the protest that was held outside the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco that was closed over the weekend. I missed most of the speeches but I did get to observe the performance of the Raging Grannies whiich included street theatre and singing. I then got to speak with a few of the Grannies as well as a couple of other people in the crowd.

Welcome to episode 36 of Echo Romeo Kilo One One.

In this episode, Erk is on location at the Garfield Road level crossing adjoining Riverstone railway station. He later moves to the Level Crossing Road level crossing between Vineyard and Mulgrave railway stations. Erk talks about some of the history of the Richmond line. Also learn about some of the development of level crossings over time as trains have got faster, longer and heavier. Of course over time, the amount of road traffic has exploded as well. While Erk moves between level crossings, there is a public service announcement that was a part of a recent anti-trespass and level crossing safety here in NSW (source: NSW Level Crossing Strategy website).

Welcome to episode 4 of Echo Romeo Kilo One One. Today is horse racing's day of days, the Melbourne Cup. This 3200 metre race is held on the first Tuesday in November each year.

Today's guest is Shelle who is an old mate of Erk's. She shares her experience of being at the Melbourne Cup in the security and first aid fields, gives us a weather report and a lot more.
