The Chillcast Video Edition is back with another dreamy video from Dive Index for "The World Is Kind," featuring the lovely Natalie Walker. This video was created by Anita Maria Leib and appears courtesy of Neutral Music. This video appears on the Collisions: Mid/Air Remixes CD release from earlier this year, while the song itself hails from their 2007 debum album, Mid/Air. #19: CC Asia Band

MoShang just created this very cool Creative Commons based video for his collaboration with fellow Tawain artist, Chang Jui-Chuan, "Freedom Zen," from the recent CC Asia Band album, CABACA. The song includes guest performances by guitarist, Chris Bailey, and drummer, Bobo. The video includes photos from the popular photo sharing site, Flickr. This video is a free download on Vimeo! This song is a free download on Jamendo. These vocals are available accapella for remixing on ccMixter.

I was lucky enough to receive a copy of the brand new Dive index release Collisions: the Mid/Air Remixes which is due out officially on Sept 26th. On this week's Chillcast #127, I played a remix of "Water in our Hands" feat the lovely Natalie Walker on vox. I discovered that this CD also contains 2 videos, one of which is for the original version of "Water in our Hands." The video and animation are by Divya Srinivasan, an Austin artist who worked on one of my all time favorite movies, Waking Life, so i had to share this video with you! Hope ya dig it.

The Chillcast Video Edition returns with this fun video for the MoShang song, “Waiting for the Bus,” from his debut 2004 album, Made in Taiwan. This comes from a 45 minute video set that he uses in live performances. I’m really excited about a collaborative Creative Commons project that MoShang invited me to join called the CC Asia Band (or CABACA) which is due out soon. Until then, you can check out MoShang’s own CC album project, Asian Variations, in my first-ever vidcast contest! Of course, you can all go download this chilled set of remixes for free, but I have one of the limited edition CDs to give to a random lucky winner. Chillcast Video Outtake

So last Thursday I sat down to record the new vidcast, but no sooner had taping begun than it was interrupted by a very loud sound and the house shaking violently. Turns out, my pine tree had fallen down in the storm that's been rampaging through Southern California, coming to rest against the eaves of my house! Luckily, my plumbing mains held it in check until the tree removers came in the morning. The pipes didn't break, though they were pulled out of the ground about a foot, taking my brick walkway with it. My roof sustained only mild damage. I lost a good chunk of garden, as well, but hey, Spring is around the corner and it'll grow back in before I know it.

Anyway, thought you might get a kick out watching my eyes grow wide... My mic is hypercarioid, which means it usually picks up NO outside sounds whatsoever, so the sound of tree hitting just seems like a little popping or crackling noise, but believe me - it was loud! I thought someone drove their car through my fence.
