Special Guest: Randy "DriverOperator" Harrington
Representing the Mid-America Bigfoot Research Center (MABRC) tonight on this special interview edition of Back 2 Square 1 is Randy Harrington, the man behind the online persona "DriverOperator". He helped form the MABRC from its previous incarnation of the Green Country Bigfoot Research Center (GCBRC) founded by Darren W. Lee (Darkwing).

Osyris take the lead with Jonny-B mainly behind the sound board, though he does pipe in with some comments and questions of his own. During the interview, we discuss Bigfoot (Sasquatch) in various capacities, the MABRC itself, and Randy's own sighting plus other related and slightly off-topics. We check in on the flooding situation in the Kent Valley and the status of the Howard Hanson Dam, plus dam flow stats, which controls the flow of the Green River. We also talk about flood preparation in other areas around the Puget Sound.

G-Man goes off on his boss (Curtis) for e-mailing stupidity before going after Hitler-Obama protester in Seattle; plus earbuds for the win! Kat also gives her two-cents on the idiots at her job.

Shootings!
G-Man segways into two shootings; the first relating to a suspect being shot the same day as the Seattle police officer he was suspected of killing was being honored and buried; the other referring the Fort Hood mass shooting by an army psychologist. We give our observations on these incidents, the American judicial and penal system, Islam and the US military, and other related tangents.

If there is a Christian God, something tell us he/'s gonna be more pissed at them than at us; scary, huh? Well, if that doesn/'t have you shaking your head, there/'s a special edition of Darwin/'s /"Origin of Species/" being distributed free on college campuses with a 50-page introduction that tries to refutes the book itself. Srsly?

Osyris Diamond (duh), Jonny-B, Kitty Kat, G-Man, & Wild-Reto showed up tonight. Yes, the show is three hours and twelve some-odd minutes long. Deal with it. So the show starts off with a tribute to The Pogues (Mahone) with a 30-second selection of the title track to the album /"If I Should Fall From Grace With God/" (see Fair Use notice below, not the babble Osyris rattled off...) before lamenting about not being able to attend their recent live performance at the Showbox SoDo in Seattle (that began a couple hours before the recording of this episode) and commenting on the current state of their lead vocalist, Shane MacGowan. Jonny-B then rips into Osyris for going after Glenn Beck (to which we conclude it was likely off-line, if at all) but conclude it might have been some confusion with Bill Maher. After realizing this, we go into the commonalities and philosophical view of (social) commentators. This evolves into the place for respect based on honest views and opinions despite disagreements therein and how this also applies to various US presidents. [B2S1 invites Mr. & Mrs. George W. Bush onto the show at any time!] This leads into Jonny-B/'s recounting of various Civil Air Patrol/Air Force cadets interaction regarding Obama/'s Nobel Prize awarding (and we give our own two-cents about it) and their lesson in humility and doing the right thing (but this comes much later in the show).

Osyris then updates everyone about Palestinian Faux Zebras. This leads back to the Nobel Prize, racism, and peace in the Middle East. Jonny-B then announces the new domain name for the show: http://www.back2square1show.com/ Currently, it points to the Mevio site. He then teases the vision for the upcoming website. (Write Jonny-B: jon.s.morrow@comcast.net) Osyris then pimps the show stats (and all the new listeners... in theory) and begs/bashes the listeners (that means you!) to write into the show. Jonny-B gives a brewing update (Pumpkin Beer & Enumclaw, Wa. Oktoberfest... that we again miss to bring you this episode) before G-Man takes over with a /"new/" major topic of: sailing. Jonny-B and G-Man then take many a trip down memory lane and get into many of the technical aspects of sailing and the politics of sailing on Radiant: That Damn Red Boat (Here/'s Your Stick!)! Towards the end, we get into other things we wanna do at some point in our lives, which get into flying and gliding. This is where Jonny-B explains how his humility taught the CAP cadets a valuable lesson. This leads into photo-taking in the sky and parking Radiant the wrong way! ohnoes! Jonny-B then airs out some things that needed to be said. Then we bug Wild-Reto to startup.sh (reto/startup). He brings up the fail that is ROCCAT Kone (mouse) & Vaio (keyboard) conflict.

This leads to Jonny-B lamenting his limited skills and some keyboard envy. G-Man then talks about a crazy keyboard. This leads into the great stuff we found at the Morrow Grandparent/'s house (from a original phonograph to a 1950/'s Lionel O-Scale train set). After we regroup, Jonny-B airs out some more dirty laundry about money and group politics (the people we all hang out with, minus Reto) under the question of: Should [you] have to apologize for the life [you/'ve] led? (The answer is no.) We are very unapologetic about our topics and our views on them, FYI. G-Man and Jonny-B then explain how long they/'ve known each other. Kitty Kat then continues the airing of dirty laundry and the financial/group politics bent from getting the new house perspective and how a /"privileged life/" is often not so privileged. This then blends into two great books, /"Number of the Beast/" and /"Starship Troopers/" by Robert. A. Heinlein. G-Man then introduces the recent announcement that Marjorie /"Marge/" Simpson (née Bouvier) will grace the cover of Playboy. After this, the issues found in the Cat Congress (The Onion) from G-Main segways into a rant by Jonny-B about the failure of the Democratic super-majority. This leads into serious critiques of the party and the long-term implications of this incompetence (and the repeat of history that is about to happen if nothing gets done). From there, we get into the rights of homosexuals, including gay marriage and the (even more) touchy subject of homosexual parents/foster parents. This topics needs another show to get into (with specific co-hosts). After that, we wrap it up with a shout-out to Dutchie as it is his birthday 11 October! (Wow, that was a bloody long episode!)

So it/'s just Wild Reto & Osyris Diamond in-studio tonight. Reto has a new job! Huzzah! We check in with Jonny-B Good & Kitty Kat live at Leavenworth, Wa. for the 2009 Oktoberfest festivities. After the update, we describe how we got the setup done for Skype call out. Checking the news (and our commentary thereon): Ireland votes on the Lisbon Treaty; Ahmadinejad Jewish?; Girl Kills Terrorist Leader with Own Gun. Osyris then suggest to use 12 Dutch controversial political cartoons published by Jyllands-Posten as album art. Reto shoots the idea down (hough Osyris understands better the logic behind the decision). Osyris will bring it up again with the other co-hosts (and pull an EU/Lisbon Treaty). Osyris then pimps the first 8 minutes of the latest Skepticality episode (/"Pop Controversy/", September 29, 2009 edition)... Osyris also says you should listen to the rest of it while you/'re at it!

After failing to contact Dutchie Dutchmen (and having some fail with Skype), we check in with Rain! After we check in with her, Reto brings up the recent Polanski arrest (with background and other details) and the various reasons why at this late stage. With one more failure to contact dutchie, we at least figure out (kinda) what Skype is doing and how to work around it. We then check in once more with Jonny-B live from Leavenworth, who brings us on a tour of the area, talking with random people and scoping out random /"Honey Buckets/". We end the show with a story about the /"Brazilian Alien/"! ohnoes! ...well, it was in Panama and it was a sloth to boot! Osyris then reminders everyone that he is back in school at UW-T but the show should continue to be weekly; and coming soon: a website and new e-mail! More information to be divulged next episode!

Dutchmen starts off the podcast with the full version of "his" Bengal Tiger story. After introductions, we update everyone on our spontaneous upgrading of the Mac Pro before scolding our listeners (yes, that means you) for not downloading episode 19 (link below). What caused this was the uploading of the "Special Brewing Episode", a video production produced by Johnny-B directly after the main episode (it should have been the other way around). Johnny-B wants feedback; e-mail him at: jon.s.morrow@comcast.net Then he and Osyris go off on Mevio & Music Alley. Dutchmen then offers a challenge: if the podcast setup is less than 20mins on set-up (once everyone is in the room) twice in a row, Dutchmen will buy a $20.00+ headset. Then Osyris, Johnny-B, and Kat get into our vacation: The Rimrock Review. In the review, they talk about their motorcycle off-road adventures (see link below for photos) and give two reviews for Gilbert Cellars and Tony's Steakhouse. This takes about 45+ minutes. We want to thank Tony's Steakhouse for the great time and opportunity to review their restaurant; and thank Gilbert Cellars for the suggestion (and the great wine)!

We forget to start the background music until the start of the reviews. Check out amb26 on Music Alley and his own site. After the review segment, Dutchmen goes off on Bellevue, Wa. tenants and high-rise fire drills. Johnny-B then adds to the discussion, as does Kat, Glacier Wulf, and Osyris. We then get into complaining about the hype around Swine Flu/Mexican Flu/H1N1 before leading into the Moammar Kadafi rant at the UN General Assembly and the G20 Summit at Pittsburgh (more about the protests than the summit). This leads into talk of people we know that have been found later to be "connected" to terrorism; too close for comfort! Then Johnny-B goes off on Glacier Wulf for e-mail mooning him. We then finally introduce our guest: Emily; before getting sidetracked back into the listenership, show stats, and podcast aggregator plus (more) Mevio improvement ideas. Then Johnny-B's high school diploma inspires Dutchmen to take us all down memory lane, including the "Muffin Man" story.

Dutchmen then updates us on the JROTC of the Kent School District and related stories. We then poke Wild-Reto for being quiet before poking Osyris for pulling one too many Kadafis. Then we go on a brief hunt for our own (smaller) Bengal Tiger before going off on people who live in valleys, flood plains, stupid people, and Kent, Wa. This then leads into a discussion about the sooner or later eruption of Mount Rainier and the panic outcome. Scrapping bottom, we get into more discussion of Swine Flu, but from a vaccine angle. After this, the show begins to betray its age and out lack of true preparedness. Then the phrase, "You are the weakest link; goodbye" gets us into a debate over its legal use of the show, its copyright details, and how they apply to the show and its current application (plus other copyright and patent issues). After we apologize to Wild-Reto and Dutchmen clarifies the rules to the above bet, we stumble through our goodbyes.

We/'re back, baby! ...with less fail this episode! Since we lost so much recording last week, we/'re giving Adraw & Alienation a second chance to rock our background music scene! After a quick prayer to keep this show fail-free, we jump right in with Rain talking about her puppy Chevron (Chevy). While it will not be revealed to the end of the show, we/'ll spoil it now and say that Kitty-Kat and Rain are now official co-hosts of the show! [Kermit Flail] First on our agenda (or lack thereof) is talk of ShoWare Stadium in Kent, Wa. and its hosting of the new (lingerie) football team, The Seattle Mist! (Who won their debut game, to boot!) Also making its debut at the stadium was Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus (which also made an appearance at its traditional stop at the Comcast Arena at Everett Events Center). Pimpage then occurs for all (most) of the big Seattle sports teams (though we/'ll pimp the one/'s we missed as well in the show links below) in the area. While Glacier Wulf takes (naughty) photos of Kitty-Kat, Osyris and Johnny-B reminisce about a drunken escapade that ended in thong wearage! We then get into the brewing of the IPA & Amber Alt Ale from last week and Johnny-B/'s modified Ale brew this week. During the talk, we pimp an upcoming video podcast special about our brewing and a possible visual tour of the studio... so stay tuned for that! During the double batch brew fest, we had a marathon of Basic Brewing Video™ in the background! We also get sidetracked by Glacier Wulf and his mead brewing. Ending the brewing topics is a upcoming trip to Leavenworth, Wa. for Octoberfest! (See our episode art work for the final brew topic!)

In our next major topic, we discuss the events 8 years ago on 11 September 2001 (and we observe a moment of silence). We give our two-cents on the subject and its aftermath before misquote President Thomas Jefferson; because it was Benjamin Franklin who truly said, “Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” Unlike the misquoting we used on the show, the quote here in the show notes is the correct one. On the same post-9/22 line, we then get into the issues of Homeland Security, the TSA, and buses of powers by /"security guards/". Osyris makes points regarding South American and African leaders in context while Johnny-B notes the issues Adam Curry had entering the country (USA). Plus we recall our own personal first reactions to hearing of the attacks. We then go into the meat of what happened and why the buildings went down. After this, we switch to the Organ State football player who acted like a jackass and disgraced his university, LeGarrette Blount. That churns into Osyris/' role in UWT (Butt-Scratcher!?) before devolving into an Family Guy/Adam West/God discussion. Getting into the show stats, we make another John C. Dvorak sighting before going into the nuts and bolts of our small listenership. Going ever further into the ditch, we have a talk about wood. We then bitch at our listeners for not reviewing the show and e-mailing us. Then Johnny-B gets mad over 3-D Home Entertainment Systems before telling us the story of MST3K-ing Passion of the Christ with his brother! We then explain the origins of Honeymoon (Mead). This evolves into breading out atheism.

We cream out pants over the new Beatles Rockband & digitally re-mastered discography of all the band/'s works. [Kermit Flail!] We pimp the 9/20 Sakura-Con meeting at the WSCTC and give info about what is happening in the next couple episodes, including Osyris going back to TWU. Making the podcast school credits? We/'ll see! Butt-Scratcher! Our new co-hosts (officially) are announced! Huzzah! After this, since Johnny-B had to be at work (Sunday) at 0700(am), we finally end the show.

So, this show end abruptly due to some technical issues with Garage Band (we muck with the new version seen in Show Leopard!). J-Rai, better known as Rain, joins us tonight. We review what brew we’re drinking, Alaskan Amber Alt Ale, and get an update on the homebrew by Brew-Master Johnny-B. Dutchie also brings some homebrew Mead from his friend also. We’re recording in the formal dining room since we have so many people. We also have new mics, which are (audio-technica) Digital Reference DR-VX1 Dynamic Cardioid Vocal Microphones, for the other co-hosts (see link above). After a comment on the FCC and its role in electronic devices, we dive into the heart of this podcast, which is our dissemination and analysis of the answers Apple recently response to the inquiry of the FCC into it’s perceived denial of the Google Voice application for the iPhone (see link above). This very long 35/40+ min conversation is interrupted at various points by random topics. Listen to the podcast to get all the juicy details. We then discuss the improving download stats for the show and ask listeners to write in with whatever they want to say. We then talk about the sad prospect that Dark-Lilith and likely Wild-Reto will no longer be co-hosts along with more discussion of where the show will be going and transforming. All listener input is appreciated and requested. Rain (J-Rai) then is better introduced (our first lesbian!) and talks about her leg injuries caused by her boss Curtis; yes, the same Curtis we’ve bitched about before.

Google intervenes and gives us Michael Jackson to talk about (see link above), much to our chagrin, and we finally give our two-cents on the topic and its wider implications. We then go into Ben Bernanke and his wife being victims of identity theft (see link above) and the legacy of the late Senator Ted Kennedy in relation to the unfair benefits of powerful people/family in political/economical power. This conversation leads into the topic of how cooperate America (i.e. Exxon Valdez oil spill, see link above) is structured towards profit/making money for shareholders and the sociological ramifications. Johnny-B then reminds Osyris of some house cleaning from episode 013 that he then brought up in 015 (listen to the show) with Dutchie. This goes on for 15 minutes or so. After this, we reminisce about a recent trip to Costco before talking about where Osyris’ kitten Lexus Ton-Ton came from (and other cat/pussy topics). The conversation then degrades into the topic of the host/co-hosts’ sexual experiences and various relations. We then attempt to continue the show beyond the 2-hour limit and start with reminiscing about previous shows before transitioning into the ordeal Osyris went through working last week and right as we’re gonna break out the Doom Dice and talk about the new IPA Osyris will be leading for the next homebrew… Garageband tell us all to fuck off. We/'re back & with a reduced crew again; just Osyris Diamond (who has flu-like symptoms... though I doubt it/'s a cool as /"Swine Flu/" or known as /"Mexican Flu/" for international listeners. He/'ll be blowing his nose throughout the show), Johnny-B, & the Kitty Kat! PKP is back in the house for our background music & starts off where we last left off with their track /"Northbound/". Joining us in the studio this evening is my new Bengal kitten, Lexus Ton-Ton (pronounced Tän-Tän) a.k.a. Crouton. Check out some more videos here: Lexus Ton-Ton a.k.a. Crouton. We discuss some of the (not-so) highlights of having her since Tuesday before Johnny-B goes into a mini-rant on /"rabbit pooh/" constipation. Osyris is /"hating life/" for lack of sleep & sanity but has yet to regret getting his $200.00 kitten (inflated to at least $500.00 with cat stuff & the first round of vet appointments). We give a shout-out to our missing comrades (Wild-Reto, Dark-Lilith, Dutchie Dutchmen, Glacier Wulf) before explaining how sick Osyris really was & how it relates to the B.S. at Iron Mountain, whose management can/'t properly assign replacement employees for open shifts. He explains his revelation of why he/'s all too often sick during the school season then the work ethics of his male family predecessors. We then talk about the other cat in-residence Taximus Maximus Meridius Kittius & his origins.

Johnny-B then segways into his co-worker from France who is dealing with an identity-crisis between being French & Algerian & Muslim. He goes on about some misconceptions of Islam & the Koran before Osyris relates this conversation to the proposed revamping of Paris: /"Greater Paris/" (see link above) & how it relates to dealing with the issues facing the city regarding its upper-class center and lower-class suburbs. He notes the 1995 movie /"la Haine/" (which is French for /"Hate/", though Osyris cannot recall the movie by name during the recording) as a reference for this tension (see links above). He also relates it back to the issues with Israel & Palestine discussed last week/'s show & relating it to the origins of /"ethnic nationalism/" as a consequence of European colonialism & western interference in the 19-20th century. Johnny-B brings it back to the Islam integration issue (globally) & discusses its role as the dominant social, economical, political, cultural, artistic, scientific, mathematic, & spiritual leader several centuries ago. Osyris brings up the 2005 movie /"Kingdom of Heaven/" (though once again he failed to remember it/'s name while recording) and its ending sequence in relation to this historical topic (see links above). From Wikipedia, /"Privately, Saladin picks up a cross that was thrown off and puts it back on the table as well as refusing to step on the stones carved with crucifixes./" We also touch on the US/USSR cold war effects on the Middle Eastern region & the rest of the world for that matter (with hints of capitalism). We also browse several other blog posts before switching to Failblog & skim through three pages of fail. Among other topics, we give our two-cents about child discipline & spanking. Then we watch an epic fail unicyclist via Failblog before Osyris goes into a "reverse racism" rant. Due to the day's events, we consider a 20min. break before deciding not to & check out the BBC World Service News & ranting briefly about the red cards give out at the Sounders/Galaxy MLS match (2-0w). After stumbling through a mini-rant about the bullshit surrounding Aung San Suu Kyi in Burma/Myanmar, & briefly talking about Secretary of State Clinton (& her more famous husband) Osyris finally give Israel hell (again) about the Palestine conflict. Dark-Lilith returns! ...well, for at least most of the episode before she leaves to help a friend. Glacier Wulf also jets at the same time, too. We bitch as usual about a bunch of things. Osyris also goes off on the debate about the Universal Healthcare legislation in Congress. Through the wisdom of the digital Doom Dice & List, we speak on XBOX-360, Steve Jobs' new iLiver 2.0, and other game related topics (see links). We touch on the Rorschach Test/Wikipedia controversy, Osyris poorly explains "Cold Reading", the Shit List is visited, we tried to explode Kitty Kat's head, and we give a shout out to the crew of "That Damn Red Boat". Osyris and Johnny-B compare bra sizes; we watch some Jimmy Justice and comment on "The Beer Summit". Buddy causes some minor mayhem, we talk about movies (Brüno, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, District 9), Kirkland Signature Beer is brought up. Under the topic Government, we discuss the Supreme Court and its role in America, then we roll over into the ethics and production of podcasting in general and verses traditional radio (including how B2S1 is made and its content). We give you a preview of things to come on B2S1 and the logic that will affect future episodes, and we give a shout out to Reto, long-lost B2S1 co-host likely still battling the Battle Cat. The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe, Reasonable Doubts, and No Agenda are uses as a contrast to B2S1; after Johnny-B takes a piss, we move into the stalled housing developments around Auburn, Kent, and Covington, Wa. and have a trip down memory lane about our old high school Kentlake. There, of course, if a bunch of other material covered not mentioned in these notes so listen to the show to get all the juicy goodness!

One of our longer shows, we touch on a lot of topics; and yes, I think this is the episode where you hear me (Osyris Diamond, the host) the least amount during the show. Glacier Wulf is now officially a co-host and we're still in a "winging it" mode. We get into some religion/Christianity bashing until Dutchie calls us out. While this is my show and again if anyone can't laugh at themselves and understand the nature of this brash critique and ridicule of the topic, they need to rethink things... a lot. Still, we have a good discussion on the topic. At the end of the show, myself (Osyris) and Johnny-B make an impromptu plead to Adam Curry (big boss of Mevio, who host this podcast) in a likely futile, if not fatal attempt to get him to chill with the crazy and make his No Agenda message more appealing to a broader audience. I will likely be e-mail Curry about this and see what, if anything, he says. (Might do the same for the previous rant heard on 010. Sherbet makes an unexpected call at the last moment while Kitty Kat gives her two cents... until Johnny-B takes off her shirt (he is her husband after all).
