Granted a lot of violence has been carried out in the name of religion. Religion is an easy target though. People seem to forget the millions that have been slaughter by communist and fascist regimes. Stalin, Moa's long march, and let's not forget the glorified Che Guevara who espoused killing all those that wouldn't submit.

It's people, not guns, religion, politics, etc that are bad.

And why do people kill? because they are told throughout their young life how to hate and be intollerant of others.

What am i doing? Teaching my children and others that they should keep loving their friends, for every action someone completes there is a reason, however mixed up. And to accept the facts of life. That religion is used throughout the world as an excuse and not to allow misguided beliefs could their judgement on what is right and honest.

Im not whining, i am sick of excuses.

Thanks for posting a response James.

James, when did I say, or even imply that podcasting is going to change the world? If that's the problem you have with people like me, then you're imagining problems.

Without getting into a constitutional debate about the 2nd amendment, I'd like to make a few points that people outside of the US don't seem to understand.

Firstly, any changes proposed to the constitution rarely make it through. It's bloody hard to make changes to the constitution and it should be. The problem is that what's in the document is easy to misinterpret. I've heard multiple interpretations of the 2nd amendment that make it sound both pro and anti guns.

Guns - I'm no gun fan. A member of my family was a hunter, so I've grown up with guns around. As for me, I have no stomach for hunting, and with little ones running around my house, there is no way I'd like to have one around. As for outlawing or making them extremely difficult for people in the US to get, this is more complex than most people can imagine. For instance, if you live in an island country, it's not too hard to police new guns coming in. You can also have a gun buy back or gun amnesty program to get the guns in circulation back. The US with Mexico and Canada on it's borders really makes getting guns out of the hands of the public impossible without the same restrictions being seriously enforced in Mexico and Canada. The borders are so long and unguarded that getting anything across from either of those countries is not a problem.

Lastly, bad people are going to do things to kill and injure innocents with or without guns. Just look at the stuff that's getting blown around the world by suicide bombers and car bombs.

It's a screwed up world at the moment. If people aren't at least talking about change, in any venue to start with, then nothings going to change.

What are you doing to change things for the better James? Quit your whining and do something if you're so passionate.

You're right Adam, the feed has been deleted, it just isnt interesting anymore.

As for turning ferral, bollocks. You are right, you may have met a number of people like me, infact there's billions of us worldwide who are tired of the western worlds idea of "freedom". Freedom, but under our conditions. We tell Iran they cant develop their technology using nuclear power because they may make a dirty bomb, but its ok for us to litter eastern europe with killing machines in the name of defence. This is simply putting a thumb on the head of the developing world and saying "you're not doing anything without our say so".

I dont hate America, i dont hate anyone. Hate is a fucking awful word. What throws me into utter dispair is that people like you (ktsdad) really do think that podcasting is going to change the world, or voting in Ron Paul as president will somehow make the world a better place. Tony Blair and George Bush didnt make the decision to go into Iraq, the people who make decisions like that will still be in power long after they have gone. The people who decide to go to war are people with the mentality that guns are good and that you can kill in the name of peace or in the name of God. People who think it is acceptable to have innocent children die in the name of freedom. If the western goverments really wanted to make the world a better place they would distribute some more wealth, goto Darfur and wipe out the janjaweed, erradicate religion....etc

The right to bare arms is utter shit. To say it is a childish attitude would be an insult to children. If he has one then i have to have one too. If a child spoke that way about a new toy you would call him a spoilt brat. That fucking idiot attitude the world round (not just america) has alledgedly civilised people pointing fucking nuclear warheads at each other, what would that ultimate goal be? Ah yes, protection, protection against each other? WRONG, protection against a few power hungry lunatics. And the only people who seem to have phoned in to say that guns are great are americans....let me be proved wrong.

The ONLY way you will change things for the better is through children. Yes, "i believe that children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way". Our only success is watching and nuturing our childrens ability to bond without predjudice, we as adults are a lost cause, we are all soaked in decades worth of lies and decete.

Anyway, theres an asteriod on a collision course with earth in 2029, so you're all fucked!

I hope by the time i decide to start listening again that "fuck you adam curry" will have stopped, and that i have a new job. You are right, things are shit at the minute for me but that isn't why i'm vexed.

As an American that has lived overseas for close to 20 years, I've come across a number of people like James. They're quite happy to talk to or associate with people from the US as long as you don't say anything positive about the US. Then they turn feral. They only want to hear the negative stuff.
People like James revel in pointing out the negative aspects of the US. Especially our current, very embarrassing, and incompetent president. James SHOULD be happy that you're trying to do something to change the way the country is being run. Instead it makes him livid.

It's almost as if people like James don't want to see things change for the better. I guess it would give them one less reason to hate and hate seems to be what they enjoy when it comes to the old homeland.

    Fuck You James.
    My two cents.

After a strange devolution of the BFN (BreakForNews.com forums) some interesting information emerges allegedly linking Fintan Dunne’s apparent investigation of BFN User “navari” (whose catchphrase is “Full Spectrum Liberty”) and his apparent founding of ESI (Election Science Institute) and RonPaulOnline.com … as exposed by BFN User “obeylittle”.

fuck you Adam Curry! Sincerely. Let's come back to good old fuck you! I was totally wrong. I thought that old EU citizens are not being asked where they come from when entering UK... but apparently, at least some of them, are asked it! I was crossing UK border literally over 50 times in last 2 years and never ever I was asked more than "where are you coming from?" (and even not always I was asked this question) - so indeed even if they ask it more often new EU citizens as old ones, I shouldn't take it so personally. I have totally blown it out of the proportion.

generally brilliant podcast it was today.

Your "we are not far off it in USA" with "Welcome to Texas? what state do you come from? why? what are you doing..?" --- THAT was chilling.

fuck you Adam Curry! You are getting better. Be open and let's continue this journey of open mind conversations. Cool. My hat off to you!

some people with too-much-time on their hands are writing poetry, but you are CHANGING THE WORLD THROUGH PODCASTING. Oh fuck.
