This is chapter 1, part 6 of Thomas Babington Macaulays History of England from the Accession of James II

Macaulay now reaches the Tudor period in his summing up of English history prior to the accession of James II.

He talks at length about the conflicting forces in English and Scottish religion during Tudor times and, of course, some of the effects of the actions of Henry VIII.
