#498 Daily Source Code for Thursday November 16th 2006

From Curry Cottage, Guildford, UK

Patricia's still 'Dancing With The Stars', while I'm home with Christina, who is battling the flu and possible 'rogue' cartilage in her knee, so plenty of doc-talk on today's Charlie.
We definitely make up for that somberness with some festive PodSafe music, so do enjoy!

mspoke: really, it's bullshit? so why so many people die because wait in several-month long operations through NHS? Why in many NHS hospitals there is super-bug problem and people get infected and die? Of course exceptions confirm rule and in some (smaller) cities NHS is just fine, but in most cases it is a very dangerous organization.

Lonely Boy (by Black Lab) is not brand new; I already downloaded that track from GarageBand a few months ago. :)

CSB - that is bullshit, you say plebs and chavs only use NHS in UK, well that must be the majority of people in the UK then. You fall over in the street and you will be in hospital in UK getting some of the best treatment in the world for FREE.

They will not ask you where you were born, live, how much money you have or if you have healthcare insurance. They will just treat you.

Lots of people bash the NHS but to a man in the UK you will find very few people (if any) who would like to see it replaced with a private healthcare system.

Re NHS - National Health Service - best thing to do (if you don't have private healthcare insurance) is to go straight to A&E with this kind of injury - if you go to your local GP you will wait forever.

BUT, and I know this is your prerogative, why not just use private healthcare exclusively if you are paying so much for insurance? Maybe free up the local NHS GP's for those not lucky enough to be able to afford private healthcare.
