Some good and bad news for fans of The Daily Show. Host Jon Stewart announced that he will be taking a hiatus this summer: bad! But it's so that he can direct Rosewater, a script he wrote based on the real-life story of Canadian journalist Maziar Bahari, who was imprisoned during his coverage of the 2009 presidential election...in Iran. Do I smell Oscar?

Monday was judgment day for actor Edward Furlong. The Terminator 2 star was sentenced to 180 days in jail after violating the terms of his 2010 probation, which stated that he obey all laws. Apparently, that includes using physical force on ex-girlfriend Monica Keena, who already had a protective order against him.

Finally, Ellen Degeneres posted a letter on her blog to the Supreme Court, as it comes to a decision about California Prop 8. With her trademark wit and warmth, the talk show host pointed out that while none of her neighbors' marriages were ruined by hers, she and Portia de Rossi still remain excluded from over 1,000 rights for married couples. And sadly, they're not the only ones.
