#6 Kansas would have to scratch and claw their way to a victory against the Iowa st. Cyclones last night on ESPN. After being down by 5 point in the final minute of regulation Kansas Elijah Johnson decided to start hitting from all over the floor, helping the Jayhawks force overtime. In OT, it was Johnson AGAIN, hitting from 7 feet behind the three point line to finish with 39 points to give Kansas the 108-96 victory and coach bill Self his 500th career win. Doing big things for his NBA value.

The Lakers have won 11 of their last 15 to get within one game of being .500, and 3 games back of the 8 seed in the playoffs, and would face the Nuggets last night. The Nuggets were hosting a track meet, as they got out on the break off every LA miss and turnover, scoring easily with dunk after dunk. The Lakers would make it close in the 4th but Ty Lawson would hit a big jumper to lead the nuggets with 22 points as they seal the 119-108 victory denying the Lakers their .500 record. I guess LA will never be in the win column.

New England Patriots tight end and life of the party Rob Gronkowski underwent surgery last week for an infection int eh same forearm that be broke twice last year. This is the THIRD time his left forearm has been operated on since breaking it nov 18th, but isn't expected to miss anytime next year. I call this new trend in the NFL, "RGIII syndrome", where players come back from injuries way too early and end up getting hurt even worse. Coming back to play football in the NFL FIVE weeks after breaking your forearm? Not a good idea.
