Texans to Secede

In recent weeks, over 113,354 people have signed a petition on a special section of the White House website called “We The People” saying they are in favor of the Texas state seceding from the United States.

Along with Hawaii, California, Vermont, and the lesser known country of Franklin which included parts of North Carolina and Tennessee, Texas is one of the few states that was at one time a separate country from the United States of America before joining the Union.  Hopefully they will make it happen sooner than later.

Scott Dejarlais gets an abortion

When we last checked in with Scott DesJarlais, the distinguished U.S. rep from Tennessee's 4th district pictured here with an un-aborted child, he had been recorded in 2000 pressuring his mistress into having an abortion. This was notable because DesJarlais — who was elected back in 2010 thanks to support from an antiquated movement called "the Tea Party" — is virulently anti-choice.  "All life should be cherished and protected. We are pro-life."  Good luck Dejarlais

Pretraeus affair

Paula Broadwell is telling friends she is devastated by the fallout from her extramarital affair with retired Gen. David Petraeus, which led to his resignation as head of the CIA.

A person close to Broadwell said Sunday she deeply regrets the damage that's been done to her family and everyone else's, and she is trying to repair that and move forward. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly.  Petraeus added Elmo to his all-star lineup.
