Bite Size Sports Update Derrick Rose tears ACL, done for Playoffs.

MEVIOtoday

Apr 30, 2012 Derrick Rose tears ACL, done for Playoffs.

Over this past weekend we the NBA playoffs kick into gear. Im not going to get into scores or recaps but I do wanna address one specific thing. The injury of Derrick Rose. In Saturdays opening game of the NBA playoffs against the Philadelhia 76ers, Bulls all star  Derrick Rose landed awkwardly on his knee. He immediately lifted the game and it was announced that Rose tore his ACL and will indeed the rest of the playoffs. SO how does this affectThe Bulls chances? During the regular season Rose battled injuries and Chicago preserved going 18-9 without him and still maintaining the best record in the Eastern conference. But this isn't the the regular season, this is a devastating blow to the Bulls and they most certainly will suffer because of it. AD LIB- talk about Boston's chances now and Miami now having more pressure to win.

My fail of the day goes to Rajon Rondo. Bostons point guard let his emotions get the best of him as he got himself ejected at a pivotal time in Sundays Celtics-Hawks game . The Celtics fought back into the game, trailing by 4 with under a minute to go. Garnett, Bass and Josh Smith would all go after a lose ball and the Ref would issue Brandon Bass a loose ball foul. This incensed Rondo and he would get in the face of the referee which would lead to a technical foul but he wasn't done as he bumped the ref in the back a big no no and he would get tossed from the game. The Hawks would go on to win 83-74 and this was a big momentum swing for them. Not only did Rondo cost them game 1 but he might get suspended for game 2 and with Boston's best player out, The Celts might get sent home early.

The win of the day goes to the Los Angeles Clippers. Sunday nights game one of the NBA playoffs saw one of the biggest comebacks in history. Chris Paul begged head coach Vinny Del Negro to put him back in and aren't clipper fans happy he did. At the end of the 3rd quarter the Clippers trailed the Grizzlies by 21. The Clippers would go on a 26-1 led by a barrage of 3 pointers made by Nick Young and the Clippers would go on to win this one 99-98. The Clippers tied the NBA playoff record for largest deficit overcome at the end of three quarters, when they trailed by 21.

The must watch game for tonight is the current reigning NBA champions, The dallas mavericks taking on the Oklahoma city Thunder. Game 1 was a nail biter and it would take Kevin Durants mid range jumper with seconds remaining to fuel the Thunder past the Mavs. Game 2 should see similar excitement tonight. The Thunder have been my pick all year to win this years championship due to their depth and youth but Dallas' veteran experience is something to note. Kevin Durant, the 3 time scoring champ has turned into a clutch 4th quarter performer but the Thunder can't bank on that on a nightly basis. Tip off for this highly anticipated game 2 gets underway at 9:30 pm et on TNT
