New and interesting game releases have been few and far between for Nintendo’s home console, but starting in April, that’s about to change.
New came out last week of two upcoming exclusive RPGs would be coming to the system.
First up is Xenoblade Chronicles, which was famously part of the fan driven Operation Rainfall that pushed for a US release. The game is set in a world where a robotic army, called the Mechonis, are trying to eliminate the flesh and blood people know as Bionis.
The game was actually first released in 2010, and has already seen a release in Japan, Europe and Australia. The US release will happen on April 6th.
The next game is also another game that was part of Operation Rainfall. The Last Story is the most recent game from Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi. Set on the island of Lazulis, if follows the character of Zael and his mercenary friends as they search for treasure. The game also features music from classic Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu. The game was well received when it was released, and garnered high marks from reviewers.
The game will hit the Wii sometime this summer.
So if you’re a JRPG fan and own a Wii, you’ve got A LOT to look forward to.

Story 2:
Kojima Productions is working on a new Metal Gear game, and if you play your cards, you could work on it too.
The Metal Gear Solid producer recently posted a listing of jobs they are looking for for the next entry in the long running series. They are looking for people to help in the development of their next gen game engine called the “FOX Engine.” Kojima Productions states that development of the new Metal Gear would take place in Both Japan and in the US, which would be a first for the company, though they have stated in the past that they would be interested in collaborating with western developers.
The new Metal Gear when it is completed, would be coming to high end consoles as well as PC.
If you think you’ve got the skills for the job, then head over to the Kojima Productions page and apply.
