Retro gaming goodness coming in May and is a new Mutant Turtles game on the way?
SHOW NOTES:
Story 1:
Retro City Rampage is an 8-bit parody of the old-school beat ‘em ups of yesterday, and now it’s been announced that the game will finally see a release this May.
Game creator Brian Provinciano recently told Joystiq that the game will also be expanding to many more platforms as well. Along with the XBLA and WiiWare releases, the game will also be coming to PC, Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita.
We have to say that is pretty impressive, since Provinciano is basically making the game all by himself. He has someone helping with the art and music, but everything else he is doing himself.
You can already pre-order the PC version over at retrocityrampage.com. Doing that will get you a bonus mini soundtrack, a digital manual, and a 20% off coupon for offical game merchandise from Fangamer.net.
I know that this game has already been on my radar. If you’re a fan of old-school 8-bit games, it should be one yours as well.

Story 2:
It looks like The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back in a big way, with a new Cartoon series on the way, new toys to go along with it. Well it also looks like a new game is on the way as well, and it’s coming from Activision.
At the recent New York Toy Fair, a promotional display at the Playmates Toys booth showcased companies who would be cross promoting the new series. Listed on the display were IDW, who are making a new TMNT comic, and Activision.
Currently Activision has not confirmed that it is working on a new Turtles game, but if the display is accurate, I’m sure we will know more soon.
If it IS true, this would make Activision the third company to tackle the franchise. With Konami making many classic games back in the day, and then Ubisoft taking over the reins a few years back.
Hey, we hope it is true, cause it would give us an excuse to eat more pizza and yell Kowabunga!!!
