A California Law that took effect on New Year's Day requires that Children must be secured in an appropriate child passenger restraint (safety seat or booster seat) in the back seat of the vehicle until they are at least 8 years old or 4' 9" in height. This will have the effect of requiring some children who had previously outgrown their car seats to return to them in the rear of the car again. According to the California Highway Patrol, the law was revised because children are at greater risk when riding in the front seat. A child's injury risk is reduced by 33% when moved from the front seat to the back seat.

Dorian: So an officer pulls over a mom driving a mini-van and asks her how old her son is, and she says he's eight years old. Actually the kid's six. What's the cop going to do? The six year old kid doesn't have an ID.

Dvorak: Scofflaw.

Eddie: The government is telling you what to do constantly, and now they're raising a generation of pussies.

Dvorak: You think things in California are deteriorating, or what?

Eddie: Yes. This is ridiculous.

Andrej: That's just a sign of him getting old.

If for no other reason, Dvorak's Mickey Mouse voice in this episode is worth the watch.
