Jan 02, 2012 My Mobile Life #9: How to Stream Live Video from your Mobile Device

Instead of shooting video and then posting it to share it with others, you can take the next step and interact with your audience to get LIVE feedback. Here’s what you need to make it happen.

Solution #1

Lots of bandwidth. 3G is ok but 4G is better, and stay in one spot or you will lose your live streaming capability when your mobile device changes towers. If WiFi is available, use that instead of cellular.

Solution #2

To stream from your mobile device, you need an app like Ustream, Justin.tv, or Qik. All support iOS and Android. Each offers different capabilities but Ustream has the most complete experience with lighting, chat rooms, and audience polling.

Solution #3

Use the QuikPod to relieve your arm from holding your mobile device extended from your body. Check out the review of the QuilPod at geekbeat.tv/quikpodmobile. Quik Pod Mobile
