My Life Scoop The Hottest Photo Apps, Made Easy

MEVIOtoday

Dec 29, 2011 The Hottest Photo Apps, Made Easy

Hi, I’m Olivia Speranza from Mevio and today I’m going to give you a quick primer on 3 photo apps that you might want to try out while snapping holiday pictures this year.

Photo apps are a fun and easy way to infuse personality to your pictures and share them with socially with all of your friends. Let's take a look at my top 3.
SnapSeed can be downloaded onto your iPhone or iPad. This photo editing app gives you a ton of control in fine tuning each edit you make. You can also undo and compare your changes.
After you snap or upload a photo, the menu tab at the bottom of the screen is where you will navigate from to make your adjustments.
There are 6 editing options and 7 filters, all allow you to selectively edit your image with a drag of your finger.
Choose an editing tab, we'll go into "Automatic" and here you can correct color and contrast. Scroll up, down, left or right to control the adjustments. There is a number indicator at the bottom of the screen to show you the exact amount of correction you've made.
In all of the editing screens, SnapSeed allows you to revert back to the original image or compare your new photo to the original version prior.
In Selective Adjust you use a loupe to adjust portions of your photo. Once you've selected the area you want to adjust, you can then make changes to the brightness, contract and saturation of those selected areas of the photo.
And again, you can compare your new version to the original.
There are 7 filter themes you can choose from and within all of these, SnapSeed allows you to make micro adjustments.
We'll go into Grunge and from here we select the area we want in focus then I can flip through different filter styles and then even which texture style I want.
I can then adjust Style, Brightness, Contrast, Texture Strength and Saturation.
After you've made all of your edits, you can then save to your library, email or share with your friends via your favorite social site.

The next photo app puts a complete different spin on your photos. Frametastic is a free app that allows you to choose from a multitude of frame themes and adjust each photo to your liking.
First select which look you want, then tap on each image to either choose a picture from your library or take a new one.
Once the photo is in the frame you can magnify and adjust it to fit where you want.
To alter the look of the photo, simple tap, choose apply effects, then choose from 18 different filters in the menu tab.
Once you choose your desired filter, you can then adjust the strength.
Finally, choose between frame style, size and color.
Frametastic lets you save to your phone, email or share on social networks including Instagram.

That brings us to the last photo app, Instagram. With the instantaneous sharing of all of your personal moments becoming increasingly popular, it's no wonder why Instagram is the most used photo sharing app at the moment.
With that being said, let's get to it. Most of you might already be familiar with Instagram. Although the filters that come within the interface are few, they're all nearly fail proof. If you want your photos to stand out from the steady influx of repetitive Instagram styles, I suggest using SnapSeed or Frametastic to edit your photo then upload it to your Instagram feed natively from your iPhone or iPad.
Frametastic gives you the option to do so instantly, with SnapSeed you must first save the image to your phone then upload directly from Instagram.
Instagram is a free app to install. Once you've installed it, you can find your friends through Facebook or your email contacts.
You simple snap, edit and upload! Follow your friends or people you want to see regularly in your feed. Instagram is about sharing moments through images.
You can take a photo right from Instagram, select a filter style and share.

Using photo apps is a fun way to create masterpieces with your photos. And best of all, it's right at your fingertips, literally!
