My Life Scoop How To Make an Animated GIF Holiday Card

MEVIOtoday

Dec 29, 2011 How To Make an Animated GIF Holiday Card

"
Hi, I’m Olivia from Mevio and today I’m going to show you how simple creating an animated GIF holiday card can be. Whether you’re opting to send digital greeting cards this year or not, once you see how easy it is to create your own personalized card, I garantee you’re going to want to have a go at it. "

There are a ton of free online services that allow you to simply upload images and then share or embed the links. I'm going to show you how a little creativity, your cell phone's camera and the Internet can make you a Holiday GIF card master.

A GIF is a series of photos that play as an animation in a loop. Some go viral, some are hilarious but all add life to still photos.

Now, before you can even create a GIF, you must first have the images that it will be composed of.

Since I'll be making a Holiday GIF card, I'm going to take a series of ten pictures that I want to stitch together into a sequence that say Happy Holidays from me.

I'll start by taking ten photos with my iPhone.

Once I have the photos I'll simply upload them to my computer.

The free GIF site that I'm using is Picasion because I can upload up to ten relatively large files to this site.

Be sure to choose your photos in the sequence that you took them in.

In Picasion I can choose my GIF size and the speed at which the photos will change.

Hit the "create animation" button and viola! Your links are created.

You can either embed you GIF into a site or share the link in an email.

Creating GIFs is fun and it puts a personal touch on your digital cards. Holidays, birthdays, just because GIF cards, a GIF keeps on giving!
