Dec 19, 2011 My Mobile Life #5: How to Keep Your Devices Charged on the Go

How can your devices stay charged to keep up with your on-to-go lifestyle? We’ll look at three solution to charging your mobile devices.

Solution #1

The Powerbag, made by Ful, can charge itself as well as your devices. You can choose the messenger style, a backpack, or a briefcase. Cables are included.

Solution #2

A small portable battery is an alternative. The Just Mobile Gum Max has enough to charge your devices till you get home. Just plug a USB cable into the battery and the other end into your device (mini or micro USB or proprietary connection).

Take a step further and that portable battery can be integrated into your phone case, like the Mophie JuicePack, Incipio and the ProVolt 4. Of course, the cases are a little thicker and heavier than normal, and remember, they will not charge other devices... just the phone it was made for.

Solution #3
Besides your gadgets, you can use MenuMeters on a Mac or (if on a PC) All CPU Meter from Addgadget.com to monitor the applications that are hogging the CPU on your machine.

For mobile devices, a good housekeeping rule is to turn off apps you’re not using.
