Netflix is supporting a bill passed by the U.S. House of Representatives that would reform the Video Privacy Protection Act. The new bill would let users agree to a one-time waiver giving Netflix permission to publish all of their viewing activity on social networks, just like Spotify does with music.

In other news, Hewlett-Packard announced that it would make WebOS an open source platform. The company has no plans to make another WebOS tablet next year, but open sourcing the platform will give developers and manufacturers another free option for running their devices.

And finally, Google is rolling out a new feature that will help you find your friends in pictures posted to Google+. If you opt-in to the “Find My Face” featured, Google+ will scan photos published to the site and suggest who the subjects are based on your friends.
