Sasaki Associates' commitment to sustainable design and building practices stems from the firm's founder Hideo Sasaki and continues today through its Sasaki Green initiative, investments the firm makes in training its staff, and even its building. This year, the Sasaki shared that investment with ASLA by making a major contribution to the Society's green roof project. LAND Online sat down with Sasaki President Dennis Pieperz, Affiliate ASLA; Senior Associates Willa Kuh, and Jason Hellendrung, ASLA; and sustainable design manager Meredith Elbaum to discuss the firm's commitment to green design, and what prompted it to get involved with the ASLA green roof project.
