It looks like the story is true. Apple does not like the use of the term "pod" in "Podcast Ready". They are doing a terrible mistake, IMHO. I've put together some thoughts here .

christine: bend over please, and I will spank you !
are you retarded or employed by Apple, Christine? It is neither polite nor fair on part of Apple! Firstly: Apple has filed application for term "pod" already what means that this move againust Podcast Ready is just prelude, and second they write shite like this:
"the term POD has been adopted and used extensively in the marketplace by consumers as an abbreviation to refer to Apple's player"
.... what is total bullshit and indicates how brutally Apple is now acting to practically take over ownership of term "podcasting" - once theyir application for "pod" will be granted they will be able to handpick who can use term "podcasting" and "pod". For example: if you pay licence to Apple you will be able to retain the name, or if you are positive about Appple, etc, etc.
Apple is scum, and I have suspected it because they don't give Mac OS X to other computer manufacturers but force users to buy their own computers. Now no need to suspect anything, everything is clear.
So, now, Christine, please bend over and let's start working out on your ass....

From what I've read about this situation, I think Apple is being more than fair, really. Under U.S. law, (and please, any U.S. lawyers reading, correct me if I am wrong) if a company fails to defend a trademark they can lose it entirely.
This is a fairly clear case of trademark dilution from what I can tell (quick reference, not to be taken as authoritative : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trademark_dilution) and if Apple were to fail to act they could lose their trademarks.
Instead of condemning and attacking Apple, why not admire their politeness in dealing with this issue, when they could have been far more aggressive and rude? If the companies involved had done their due diligence, would the situation even have occurred?

Stomp the Bleachers is way cool. But, I don't think Black-eyed Peas need to "eat their heart out". Both are good, but for me there is no diminishing the talent of BEPs.
Back to Stomp the Bleachers...man this would be just plain awesome if it was playing in a sports stadium with lots of people participating. That is what I envisioned while listening to this while running 12 miles. It was definitely music to run to.

Ho hum. CSB - you have *amazing* skills in multiple languages. Why do you have to drop the f-bomb so often?
