BIO

Singer. Songwriter. Producer. Re-mixer. Multi-instrumentalist. Label Owner. Any one of these talents might be enough. But to have experienced success with all of them? There aren’t many artists who can make that claim, but soon any one who listens to the radio will be able to add K. Drew to that list.

While he has an innate understanding of the music business, K.’s passion still lies in his songwriting. With Michael Jackson as is his biggest influence (and BAD the first record he ever bought), K. shares a trait with another hero when he’s in the studio. Like Lil Wayne, K. goes in to the booth and starts singing without writing down a lyric. “I can be any where and it will just come out. I go in to the zone, beginning with making a beat, and then start singing a melody. I let my brain go, close my eyes and stay in the moment, thinking about what I would want to hear. Lyrics and melody just come out, I don’t know how. It’s like they were already written for me without me knowing it!”

What is the K. Drew sound? It's a pop/R&B hybrid with a beat, a unique blend of harmony and attitude, sincere ballads and pumped up in-your-face bounce. With K., the physical is nearly as important as the musical- his groove has a move. Dancing and showmanship is a big part of what K. does and he can’t wait to bring his music to more people. After being flown out to a club in Detroit, and performing at the Bowery Poetry Club in NYC to ecstatic audiences, K. is taking the time to put together a show that’s going to blow people’s minds.

In it for the long haul, there’s no doubt to K. that this is just the beginning for him. Looking at fellow artist Drake inspires K. to do what he keeps on doing. “I like Drake a lot, he does his own thing and he’s true to himself. That’s what I got going on too. I do what I feel in the moment and just go with it. I love all types of music, I don’t want to limit myself. Making my music, studying it, living it, getting better every day, that’s what I am all about.”
