Nov 04, 2009 The Conduit - Wii Game Review

n The Conduit, you are Mark Ford, a super-secret agent for “The Trust,” A super-secret government agency that… well, does super secret stuff. The plot is your standard alien conspiracy riff, nothing special, but entertaining at least.

What really makes The Conduit shine is its perfect controls. Well, perfect once you fiddle with them for a while. The control system is incredibly customizable, so with a little work, you can find the perfect settings just for you.

Futuristic weapons abound, and there’s a nifty gadget called the All-Seeing Eye, or ASE for short. You can use the ASE to unlock doors, detect invisible mines, and uncover hidden messages that unlock bonuses and cheats.
Apart from that, The Conduit is a pretty standard run and gun experience. It’s definitely something new if you only own a Wii and are used to Wii Fit and Wii Sports, it doesn’t stand up to FPS greats like Half Life 2 and Halo 3. For example, the enemies are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. Sometimes they duck for cover and try to flank you, but other times they just stand there asking to be shot in the face with a high-powered rifle.
Still, it’s a third party shooter for the Wii, and it doesn’t suck! Just for that, you should buy it. Get off the couch, quit bitching about how there aren’t enough hardcore games for the Wii, and go buy it!
The Conduit gets a very good 7 out of 10.
