KIRBY HEIRS LOOK TO TAKE BACK COPYRIGHTS FROM MARVEL
The heirs of "The King" are looking to take back a little
bit of his kingdom. They've hired the same lawyer who got the Siegel
family a piece of the Superboy rights recently.
Solicits would make one think so...
FANTASTIC FOUR #574

NEW JLA LINE-UP REVEALED
So now we have Congorilla, Donna Troy (Wonder Woman stand in), Dick
Grayson (our new Batman), Mon-El (essentially our new Superman), Kimiyo
(the nice Dr. Light), Green Arrow, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan, who
replaces John Stewart after about a year of giving him the position on
the JLA), The Atom (Ray Palmer), Cyborg, Starfire (the titans finally
got promoted) and The Guardian (Superman).
Not too far from what we knew not long ago. Personally, I think this team is a nice shake-up for the DCU!
BUFFY SEASON 9 ON ITS WAY
10 more issues to 40 for season 8, a break and then season 9! Pretty
amazing to see the series continue to have this kind of success.
CASSADAY AND WAID JOIN IN THE TEASERNESS
This time with a Cassaday cover of a yet to be announced Mark Waid
series. Man, can Waid's decade get any better? This guy just keeps
going and going, and as of yet, I haven't seen him falter.
BLU-RAY BLOG GOES OVER THE WATCHMEN: ULTIMATE CUT
Extended edition, Black Freighter woven in, all in an almost 4 hour long package. This is the edition I have been waiting for.
KICK ASS 2 ALREADY BEING PLANNED?
We know that Millar is the biggest self promoter ever, so we may
want to take this kind of news with a grain of salt. Then again, he
started as a comic writer and now is getting "movie money," so maybe
he's willing to produce it on his own? I certainly wouldn't put it past
him.
HIGHLANDER REMAKE IN THE WORKS?
I love me some Highlander, but I don't know if it really needs a
remake. Then again, the past few movies haven't been of the highest
caliber, and I could use something to wash that "alien" thing out of my
brain.
JOHANSSON PART OF IRON MAN 2 TICKET AUCTION
If you fine people remember last year's celebrity auctions, various
tickets were sold along with the chance to meet and hang out with
stars. It brought in a lot of dough for charity, and it's starting up
again, at least in on instance, the Iron Man 2 premiere. The first?
Seeing the premier with actress Scarlett Johansson.
SPIDER-MAN 4 TO GET IMAX RELEASE, COMES WITH A SIDE OF DUNST
Interesting that Rory Bruer, President of Worldwide Distribution
ends up "confirming" (in one way or another) Kirsten Dunst's
involvement considering no one else has said anything about it. I'll
put this on "we'll see."
IGN BREAKS DOWN THE NEXT 15 MARVEL MOVIE RELEASES
Quite the list, it is, until you realize 6 of them are in development
hell(ish) right now, and have no official plans or release dates.
Internet, oh internet, thou art so full of conjecture, yon internet.
RON HOWARD INTERESTED IN THE "STRANGE ADVENTURES OF HP LOVECRAFT"
I've really enjoyed this series so far (1 issue left, I think) and it's cool to see such a decorated director taking this on.
FUN LITTLE OPENING FROM NEWSARAMA'S BLACKEST NIGHT #3 REVIEW
I enjoyed this bit.
Welcome
back to the big Friday column gang. We know there’s only one book this
week, but we decided that we can’t skip if the main—
Guys?
Sorry, readers. Hang on. Yeah?
Can I have a minute?
Oh, for God’s sake, Kanye—
I think your column and this crossover is great, and I’mma let
you finish, but listen, I just wanted to say that Marvel Zombies was
the best super-powered zombie story of all time. And--
Dude, we get it. You like the spotlight. Let us get back to—
But Marvel Zombies had two million zombies! It had Pamela Anderson in it!
Go home.
George Bush doesn’t care about Black Lanterns.
Please.
Fine. I’m gonna hang out with Zombie Aquaman. He has fishsticks. In his mouth.
Our apologies, gentle readers. Where were we? Oh, yeah.
NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET REMAKE TRAILER
I generally don't like horror remakes - with a few exceptions - and
I especially don't like them when there's an iconic performance like
Robert Englund's Freddy Kreuger. But I'm morbidly curious about this
remake. Casting Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy is inspired, but they're
also apparently tweaking his history/origins as well. Still, this
trailer gets me excited.
