Indeed welcome to SS episode 18 for the 13 ^th November 2008 –

 

Now you may have heard or you may have noticed the URL change that our hosting company Podshow is now called Mevio. This change is filtering through the Podshow properties and the UK is still at BTPodshow.com with redirects to Mevio.Com as required. So you'll be seeing the Mevio moniker more and more.

 

Now back to the show.

 

 

After the last episode of the SS show, when I featured Jim Guittard and his and others use of CCMixter allowing YOU to remix the component tracks of many songs to create a new mix, I got a lovely note from Jim pointing me to another CC place for music., Jamendo hosts many artists, including Jim. and there byline is “On Jamendo artists allow anyone to download and share their music.” It's free, legal and unlimited . Jamendo : Jim Guittard I thank Jim to getting in touch, he mentioned that he is in fact an American living in Bulgaria, although with the current economic difficulties that are affecting the new European states harder than the more established ones, it will be a hard time for anyone trying to start a new life, I do wish him well. He has worked hard producing a wide variety and large number of tracks, available for podcaster via the PMN, downloading via Jamendo or remixing via CCMixter.

 

Of course many of the same tracks are already available to listen to on Mevio and the PMN, and Mevio hosts video and many additional artists as well.

I'm still working on the next CCMixter mini-series episode, but this time I wanted to focus on a musician I found on the PMN.. I spotted Stacee Lawson preparing the last show and I notice that she has a new track uploaded this week. Stacee also has a recent released album called 'Deranged' that you can buy on her own, her MySpace ® website, Itunes ® Store or Amazon ® (UK or US). Out of the clubs of Huntington, West Virginia comes the folk rocking sounds of Stacee Lawson. Over the past 4 years Stacee has taken her musical abilities from karaoke to acoustic gigs to her brand of indie infused folk rock.

 

After a year of work, some with Jeff & Julie Westlake, and Nathan Paull from BCD and with DA Records. Working in the Smash Hits studio in Huntington, WV. Over 8 weeks Lawson laid down 11 tracks for her now titled debut CD "Deranged." Stacee is supporting the release by putting together a band and playing live shows.

 

The CD actually lists 9 Tracks so I guess a couple didn't make it.
