I like Adam in the pit, asking for people to dump their "stuff".

Hi Adam, I live in Brisbane but I've never heard of this "Brisbane H3N2" virus. It certainly didn't make headlines down here, and there is no mass vaccination in Brisbane. The article you linked is just blatant lies from the UK media.
If you search on google there are another Brisbanites saying the same thing. The only mentions of H3N2 in the media this year aren't even in Brisbane newspapers.

Adam, i just came here after hearing you on TWiT. I knew your name and who you were, but i'd never heard your show before. Listening now and enjoying (and i only heard the TWiT feed, not the live/outtake stuff).

Average speed cameras are not new, but if they're operating over long distances, that's new. Originally, the linked cameras were about a quarter of a mile apart.
When driving on the tolled motorways in France, you get a ticket giving the time you entered the tolled section. The computer that reads the ticket at the other end to know what toll to charge, based on distance, could also be working out whether you have exceeded the speed limit, so I take care not to exceed 130kph too much.

Here in Ireland, we had a trial of electronic voting machines. Then without proper evaluation and testing, the government decided to roll the system out generally.
Public outcry succeeded in getting the machines mothballed indefinitely, so at least we're spared that threat to democracy, although we're paying about half a million Euro per annum just to store the things, on top of the 50 million Euro we paid for them.

Adam, you really wanna piss off listeners? You wanna people to hate you? If not, then don't compare your deterioration of situation due to crisis (depreciation of your portfolio) to situation of working classes (lost job, lost house, homelessness, hunger) that can arise from the crisis if companies will not get coverage for operational expenses from banks, etc.
Regarding Fortis it was always widely considred in banking circles as shittty bank, and its bailout was done NOT by EU but by 3 Benelux countries. However you are right on 2 counts: 1) EU is in deep shit too, 2) EU will throw some cash at financial stabilisation too.
And stay laser-focused in DSC on USA till election day at least!
hosted channels are crap, people want: OpenID, syndication for comments, OpenSocial platform for social networkig apps, etc.

Adam, some thoughts for you.
First of all, gardasil. Again. In DSC 792's comments, I asked you for some sources for these reports of garadsil related deaths, which you didn't provide to my knowledge. You're a busy guy, so fair enough, I went and did a little looking around following your almost bitter retort to the woman who called in today. I found the following link, which should make interesting reading for you considering the source:
http://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/vaers/gardasil.htm
So there it is - there were 21 reports of gardasil related deaths. However, the reports of serious adverse reactions were less than half the average for all vaccinations, and of those, none could be used to establish a causal link between gardasil and the death.
Maybe doing some research might've been a good idea, if you didn't get your back up so much about being told to look at some trustworthy sources.
As for your views that there are other ways of combating this - yes, there definitely are, but don't you think that prevention is the best cure? Clearly you do for other vaccinations like polio and so on. Which leads me on to my next point...
I do agree with you that the price is extortionate, totally unjustifiable and is clearly being used to line the pharmaceutical companies' coffers. Maybe the money being spent on these vaccinations could be better spent on improving protection through promoting the use of condoms and better screening, so there is an argument to be made there.
Finally, I agree with you 100% on the UK government's plan to regulate internet content to 'protect the children'. Typical nanny state waste of money, which could be far better spent doing everything you mentioned - educating the parents, who are woefully ignorant in a lot of cases, and the children.
And I'm spent. Stay wide awake in dreamland, but maybe try and avoid the caffeine buzz of paranoia you've been on for a while!

To be more specific, it seems that some of her words are coming in before the preceding breath is complete. Common bad voice editing if you're going for natural delivery. Again, maybe just the voicemail self editing.

Adam, regarding the Gardasil shill (gardaSHILL?) who called in... not to fuel the theory that this woman isn't honestly intentioned, but it seemed to me that this phone call was edited, towards the end. It may have been that you edited the call for time/relevance, or perhaps an anomaly of the voice mail system, but it's not something I've noticed before. Give it a good listen.

New speed checking methods to be used in England , if I am not mistaken this has been in use in Australia for years now to check on the speed of semi trailers (tractor trailers as called in the states). Semi is checked going under a bridge or overpass then a certain distance down the highway, checked again.
