Although Georgia undoubtedly started the recent battle against the Russians, it is not true that Georgia attacked Russia. Georgian troops entered South Ossetia, which is still legally part of Georgia, albeit somewhat reluctantly.

The occupying Russians retaliated by launching attacks in Georgia proper, so technically Russia attacked Georgia, not vice versa.

As I understand it, but I could be wrong, the South Ossetians had been effectively abandoned by Georgia, and Russia opportunely stepped in to offer them Russian passports. That is how there are so many Russians in South Ossetia who need Russian "protection."

An interesting side note is that the disagreement between Russia and Georgia after the French peace plan was signed, where Russia claimed to be abiding by the agreement and Georgia claimed Russia was violating the agreement, was due to a preposition being translated differently in the versions signed by each party. Both parties were right!

You're right about the HPV vaccine being promoted by the pharmaceutical companies, but it has been shown to be safe and effective.

As you suspected, many countries are implementing a vaccination programme. My eldest daughter will be vaccinated when the programme is launched here in Ireland next September. I'm happy that I won't have to pay the €500 or so that it would cost to have it done privately, which I was seriously considering in the absence of a health service programme.

There are people arguing that boys should not be left out because the same wart virus can cause cancers in males. How does your conspiracy-inclined view explain why they are excluded?

Many adults, male as well as female, are paying to be vaccinated, although to be most effective it needs to be given before a person's first sexual contact.

In the US, it is being opposed not so much on health grounds as because of it needing to be given to young girls just in case, but that is seen as encouraging early sex. I suppose they're the same people who believe in "abstinence only" sex education (like George W. Bush and Sarah Palin), a policy which increases the rates of unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.

regarding your GoDaddy code "DSC3" - I have boutht recently at Godaddy domain "gdgt.tv" and I was trying to apply DSC3 but it did not work, so I used GEEK5 and it worked. Something must be screwed with your DSC3 code...

Adam, number of conspiracy theories that you proliferate is so big, that I am losing track already. Could you make one page with list of all the conspiracy theories ? It may help understand connections between/among them. I suggest: create curry.com/list or list.curry.com and put all your theories there!

Hey Adam..sort it out mate, I use FeedDemon to 'collect' my podcasts and every one of them can be auto downloaded with the software but yours! To get yours I must scroll down the post in your feed and then get the link from where it says 'direct link to the show'. Not exactly a hassle but it does stop your show from being auto-downloaded and so sometimes I don't have time to stop and grab it till later.
Surely the man of podcast expertise extraordinaire can have his own podcast delivered in the 'proper' way?
Apart from that I love the show and think you're a pretty cool kind of as guy. I wish you'd give up on the conspiracy theories though and what the hell are you going to do when October 14th comes and goes without any event to speak of? You will look a right proper narna!
