Adam - sounds like those pills given to your daughter were labelled Stemetil or Compazine: I was given them for an ear infection a few years ago. I also looked them up, and declined to take them: besides the stuff you mentioned, they could also have reacted badly with the hay fever pills I was on, something the doctor should have picked up. They can help in cases of travel sickness, though.

Just a small correction on the pause function and programming it into your phone: the pause is not the star * itself, but the p which you can get by pressing the * consecutively.

and by "non-career" I mean those that aren't making a career out of politics. basically those with nothing at stake but the fact that they have to put up with the shit that government comes up with.

It needs to be random choice in order to stop fundamentalist and those in the pocket of people already in power from being a majority.

Their time in government is paid for by out taxes so they aren't out of pocket for doing a civic duty.

    russian aggression?
in my eyes all sides are to blame.
The russians for going gung ho (tho arguably they did the right thing, even if for the wrong reasons), US and nato countries (UK included) were bang out of order in provoking georgia into attacking.

We as a group of nations should stop fucking around with other civillians lives just because the curse of oil has touched them.

I'm thinking through ways to solve these problems with screwed up governments and the obvious solution is to bring non-career civillians into the governmental system on a rotating basis picked at random to act as a form of house of lords.

They get to have their say on proposed laws, get to ask questions that MUST be answered truthfully and free of withheld info problems.

The UK military is to be pared down until it is only capable of defense of the nation and peacekeeping forces.

The only way to cure voter apathy and to actually reign in corruption is to bring the public into government and have those that serve us answer our questions and do as they're damn well told.
