Now back to the show.
The young girl sat transfixed by the man playing the guitar in front of her. His Irish lilt and the dramatic story that unfolded minute by minute through the song he was singing, gripped her soul. Music can do that, she thought, and noted the lyrics down as soon as she could. Being an budding singer she taught herself the tune and sang the song to folk club audiences all around England. The song became a great hit on the club circuit and only years later did the young lady learn that the words that she noted were not those that had been sung all those years before.
The song that Kate Rusby sang together with Kathryn Roberts she titled “Ned on the Hill” the original was in fact “Ned OF the Hill”. This story, that I recall Kate telling to me, was brought to my mind buy the first of four great tracks IMHO from this shows special selection. I'd love to play Kate Rusby, but I don't have any of her music Podsafe yet, but good news is that the artists I feature today have embraced the tubes, seen what great things come from doing so and have made their music Safe for Podcasters, and are continueing to release new stuff. The tracks today are all fresh up on the PMN at http://music.mevio.com
Entitled “Marci of the Golden Hill” the song is by Jennifer-Avalon

WebSite Bio: Jennifer Avalon is a singer/songwriter based in Massachusetts. She has had an on-line presence since 1996, when her website first came on-line. Since that time Jennifer has developed an online fanbase and has been blessed to see her music spread around the world through the Internet. In 1997, Jennifer started posting a weekly essay to her site, and in 2003 she decided to start giving her music away for free from her website. In December 2005, Jennifer started adding her music videos to the website.
As a child Jennifer was involved in musical theatre, as a performer at the Sacramento “Music Circus”, which still is a popular theatre-in-the-round. She also did voice-overs. In her late teens she did some fashion modeling for Women’s Wear Daily, and in her twenties, upon moving to New York City, Jennifer became involved with Broadway and received a Tony Nomination as a Broadway producer.

AVALON: Timeless & Free
Aviator Records is proud to release Jennifer Avalon’s new CD “Atrium,” the latest addition to Jennifer’s remarkable career that over the past decade has reached over 90 countries. “Atrium” like her other CD’s can be completely downloaded for free at her website, www.jenniferavalon.net . Jennifer is another one of the few artists who are finding unusual ways to reach out and expand their fan base.
“Atrium” touches on all facets of Ms. Avalon’s “muse,” with new original material such as “The Carnival,” “Milk and Honey,” and “One Good Deed,” while offering unique versions of traditional classics like, “Shenandoah,” “Loch Lomond,” and her refreshing rendition of the World War I classic “Pack Up Your Troubles.”“Atrium” offers a little bit of magic for everyone, through the warm voice of a rare artist.
Now I have thought of playing Robin Tymm on a previous shows, but a suitable slot hadn't appeared, until now. With strong lyrics and a powerful message, Robin is another good example of what can be done with skill and Garageband, Listen to this tack, one of nearly 50 on the PMN.
After that bit of a downer, I'll let the next band bring us back to a rise.

Translation: Spanish » EnglishHola, soy Rosa Delia Rodriguez.
