Indeed welcome to SS episode 15 for the 28^th July 2008 –

Now you may have heard or you may have noticed the URL change that our hosting company Podshow is now called Mevio. This change is filtering through the Podshow properties and the UK is still at BTPodshow.com with redirects to Mevio.Com as required. So you'll be seeing the Mevio moniker more and more.

Now back to the show.

For the young lad nursery was fun, the son of a world famous writer, he had is own artistic bent. The class had been drawing pictures and Mrs Clinck had let them go early, a to take their prized artwork home to show it off. Before his the daddy could give him his hug, the little one proudly thrust his picture forward, saying look daddy, loook. The artwork depicted a little girl, a classmate of the little boy, "look Daddy" he said, this is Lucy, in the Sky, with Diamonds.

So July has been a busy month but I wanted to bring you another selection from Podshow, now they are called Mevio but they continue to host great music and video shows to download to your ipod and other mp3 players free of charge. Find them at Mevio.com

Just two tracks in this selection, but they compare well, and sound great if you like a to listen to a complex sound.

The Beatles produced a broad range of music and introduced many audio concepts that have become standards in modern music. If you remember "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" inspired by the painting by John Lennon's son Julian, then this next track may bring back the thoughts as it did for me.

The group Higgins was formed by Kevin Fish and Brian Kantor from NY NY

The Lineup now includes: Josh Kaufman,

Eric Jackson, Fuller Condon, Jordan Crowe

TimeOut are quoted as saying "We can't figure out why Higgins hasn't caught on yet."

Maybe Mevio exposure will correct that.

Another concept that was unknown before the 60's is heavy metal, Inner Surge have developed a sound as broad and complex as the Beatles, based around a base of metal. Check out episode 13 for a deeper review of this powerful band, here I bring you another track "From The Depths"

I think its amazing how with just 7 notes to play with, a new sound can be created that then influences all the generations of the future, whether Shostakovitch or Deep Purple, the Stones or Bee Gees. To my mind this is an important reason to prevent the lock-in of intellectual property for more than the life of the creator.
