Thanks to ChillyWilly for tracing your quotes in DSC 764 to the Council of Europe's European Convention on Human Rights.

(I can't figure out how to put clickable URLs into comments. The spaces in the above URL should actually be plus signs, but they are being stripped out!)

As ChillyWilly noted, that convention already applies to member states of the European Council, not just members of the European Union. Adoption of the Lisbon Treaty would mean that it also applies to the EU as an entity in its own right.

Not adopting the Lisbon Treaty would not stop the provisions of the ECHR applying to citizens of the EU. I am therefore reverting to the "Yes" side to make the EU a more manageable and co-operative institution.

Note, however, that the latest opinion polls here in Ireland show that rejection of the treaty is now a more likely outcome.

I hate it when people pretend to quote something but when asked "where exactly are those quotes" then they answer "it is spread all over the document". So don't quote in first place godaddamn it or quote but mention from which chapter you quote. Note that when clergymen quote Bible then mention exactly from which place they quote. Adam you should therefore not quote something without mentioning exact chapter.

BTW: I found this musik on my drop.io is not a justification for violation of copyrights but well, as we know you can get away with it - you are above law.

And Adam, dont' worry too much about EU - you have US passport so you can fuck off from this mess any time. Better take care that Obama will be elected in USA and not war-mongering McCain !
