Adam - Glad you enjoyed the answer show.
Besides the issues of space travel reliability, another big problem with space disposal is that it takes an very large amount of energy to lift material out of the earth's gravity field. Remember how big those Saturn V moon rockets were and how tiny the actual capsule was?
No, IMHO the best thing to do with used nuclear fuel (the new brand for "nuclear waste") is to temporarily store it on the reactor site - carefully - and then recycle it into new fuel for future reactors. More than 95% of the potential energy still remains when we take out the fuel from our current - 1960s vintage technology - reactors.
We can do a lot better with technology that is already proven today.
WRT the driving test - it really brought back some memories. Stressful time for a dad. Fortunately the girls both passed on their first try and managed to get through the teen years with just a couple of fender benders.
Hope Christina passed so that you did not have to deal with the consequences.
