This week the girls are practising for their tour.
They are also having long meetings with the costume designers to tailor make a brand new wardrobe espicially for the tour. Just one of the many perks of being a popstar...
But if you're thinking that life on the road is glamorous, think again. Cheryl says, "I normally stay in bed till around twelve because I'm so exhausted from the night before. Your body needs to recover."
But Kimberley's looking forward to it more, saying, "It's great! We'll be sleeping, eating breakfast, watching rubbish telly programmes."
There's an article on the Female First website about the girls but it's not very nice. Here it is:
Is there anybody out there who'd put money on Girls Aloud still being together in a year's time? Let's face it - they're not the kind of band that was ever likely to build a long-lasting pop career and, at the moment, they're attracting all the 'will-they-won't-they?' split attention.
Their former manager Louis Walsh claimed the band will part after their next album, with Nadine Coyle being his choice as the first one to call it a day. The Irish music mogul thinks the singers have struggled since brunette beauty Nadine's whirlwind romance with 'Desperate Housewives' actor Jesse Metcalfe. It's rumoured that he's keen for her to join him in Los Angeles permanently and start a family.
Louis told New magazine: "They're doing one more album for Polydor. I think rumours about the band splitting started because Nadine is in Los Angeles, but she's only in Los Angeles because she's going out with Jesse Metcalfe. She's with Jesse and there's not a thing we can do about it. But she's happy."
This would certainly leave something of a hole in the band's line-up.
Pretty Nadine, 21, has been singing the praises of her new beau and confessed: "I definitely want to get married before I am 30. I've always dreamed of a big white wedding back home in Ireland. I always get emotional at weddings. The whole day just makes me feel so happy. I want to settle down sooner rather than later.
"There will come a time when being a number one mum will be more important than having a number one single. Jesse is so sweet. He has met my parents and they think he's great. I've never been so happy."
Since Jesse's recent admission to rehab for treatment for alcoholism, Nadine has vowed to stand by him.
Girls Aloud were created on ITV talent show 'Popstars: The Rivals' back in 2002, and are now one of the UK's most popular girl groups. The group's distinctive brand of futuristic pop has catapulted them to the top of the charts, making them one of the most successful pop acts of the decade. Boasting a record-breaking fifteen consecutive top-10 singles, four platinum albums and sales in excess of two million, the girls' cracking stack of songs have made people fall in love with 24-carot solid gold pop again.
On top of this, the famous five have managed to perform a sell-out tour of the UK and bag mega-bucks deals with soft drinks companies, toy manufacturers and hair companies.
But Girls Aloud's meteoric rise has not been without difficult moments. In 2003, singer Cheryl Cole, 23, assaulted toilet attendant Sophie Amogbokpa at a Guildford nightclub. The star once admitted: "My wildest night out was probably the time I was sick out the taxi window all down the side of the cab."
But the sexy singer, who is married to footballer Ashley Cole, has come a long way from her boozy nights out. Cheryl - who once got barred from a club for drunken behaviour - has officially ditched her wild ways and upped herself in the style stakes. Nowadays she is more likely to be spotted swapping fashion tips over dinner with new best friend Victoria Beckham. And she is certainly giving Victoria a run for her money in the Chief WAG stakes. During the Germany 2006 World Cup, where Cheryl was supporting fiancé Ashley Cole, she was continuously photographed with the wives and girlfriends of other England football stars, and their partying and shopping sprees sparked a media frenzy.
But bandmate Sarah Harding is not impressed with Cheryl's new pal. The 25-year-old has slammed the former Spice Girl's "anorexic figure" dubbing it "unsexy". Sarah said: "I think she's ill. She's always in the press and wears child sizes even though she's a grown woman. It's sick. Have some food. What's sexy about being straight up and down and skinny? The female body should be an hourglass figure, not anorexic looking."
So while Cheryl is hanging out at Beckingham Palace, Sarah prefers to work her party animal routine at London's top nightspots. The singer - who was one of the celebrity bridesmaids at Jordan's wedding - loves nothing more than a big night out. Sarah is often spotted enjoying boozy party nights with a gaggle of celebrity pals, including best friend 'Celebrity Big Brother' contestant Danielle Lloyd.
When she's not propping up the bar, Sarah has bagged herself a new day job - a £100,000 deal with Ultimo lingerie. Following in the footsteps of Penny Lancaster, Rachel Hudson and Helena Christensen, the blonde bombshell was chosen to model the new range after being spotted wearing a bikini on holiday in the papers.
Sarah also filmed a cameo appearance in independent British film 'Bad Day', playing a brunette girl called Jade Jennings who sits in the back of a cab and swears down the phone. And she was the face of Coke Zero for its launch in Ireland.
Like all pop acts, there are always a couple of members that somehow seem to get forgotten. We all know Justin Timberlake - but does anyone remember the other four 'N Sync boys? Thought not.
With Girls Aloud, it is Kimberley Walsh, 25, and Nicola Roberts, 21, who are often overshadowed by their glam bandmates.
Kimberley was snapped puffing on a joint at a New Year's Eve party and was forced to apologise after the photo was published. She said: "I realise what I did was wrong, especially as I'm in a position where fans look up to me. I got caught in a moment and I'm sorry."
And Nicola - who split from long term lover Carl Egerton last January - has been making the most of her new single status. The flame-haired beauty is a regular at London's Embassy Club and regularly hits the town with bandmates Kimberley and Sarah.
But while these three pop-tarts party the nights away, Cheryl and Nadine seem much happier in their new A-list lifestyles. While Cheryl's busy beating Victoria and Coleen McGoughlin in the WAG stakes, it's rumoured that Nadine could be about to ditch the rainy shores of Britain for the bright lights of Los Angeles.
It was recently reported that the Irish beauty was set to star in a US TV show, which would no doubt pose the greatest threat to the bands future so far. But Nadine rubbished rumours she was thinking of abandoning the girls for other projects. She said: "I'm not working on anything else, because I'm with the band."
Girls Aloud hold the record for the shortest time ever between forming and reaching number one in the UK charts. But they might just disappear as quickly as they came. And the girls have just released their greatest hits album. Isn't that always the beginning of the end? |
