Germany and the future!!

Hey so I recently was surprised with a trip to Frankfurt Germany. While Many have asked "Did you make in time for the World Cup finals'? I said "No'. I went to frankfurt to visit my lovely girlfriend a.k.a Panda-girl. She's doing a residency program at the FKV. I was always impressed with her career choice and what exactly a Kuratorin does? So I had a bit of in-sight but for the most part it was all fun and games. I met so many wonderful people and whoever said Germans are not friendly certainly is in-correct. Meike and Peter opened up their door's and allowed us to crash in their place. For the first 3 days I was so jet-lagged. It was pretty sad. I took naps at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. so that I could continue to function. Sleeping Masks are my new Best -friends.

Public Pools are huge in Germany. There are no beaches. Also no central A.C. With Global warming reaching record highs the heat wave was enough to drive you insane. So, these public pools are like something out of six-flags minus the icky, nightmare pool stories one hears. (Think Caddy-shack).. LOL!!

I have never had so much beer as I had in Germany. I'm not even a huge beer drinker to begin with. Beer is about $150 Euro which is very cheap. Go Figure! They also have a very free public drinking policy! So peeps you can walk around all Germany with a beer and no one cares. Food and everything else is very cheap!

Had some Berry gelatos bigger than my head. Thin slice pieces of meat sizzling in olive oil, thyme, and rosemary! Northern Soul night with all the kids, dancing in the underground's to 60's beat neck music and worshiping a shrine to Elvis. Even the German's know "Long Live the King". The best chocolate is at Bitter and Zammet!! Bed time but not really-!! Riding Bike all around Frankfurt and not being able to touch the peddles because I'm to short! hey I'm a trooper. Seeing a shooting star with the person you love! Priceless! Having to say goodbye and not wanting to get on the plane!

This was a magical trip and a great way to end the summer of 2006 in New York! Who knows I just might be in the city that started it all. The city I left me heart in!
