I was planning to look after Winnie for a few weeks prior to rehoming, but she's a permanent addition to my home now. She's a 16 year old Persian who likes cat milk a lot, and sliced turkey and tuna although I'm told not to feed her too much tuna.
She arrived very wobbly, and very thin, just bones, fur and claws, but is much more lively now and putting on some weight. After a vet visit and some tests, she has kidney problems and a stomach tumour, but is too old to be operated on :( She's on antibiotics for 2 weeks, and on renal tablets permanently and needs a low-salt diet.
Most days and nights, she shadows my every move into different rooms. She likes to sleep next to me when I'm on the Pc or watching telly, waking up for food and cat milk, and doing a silent meow when she wants something. She plays with string and can't resist an explore of an open cupboard or wardrobe. :) Her favourite place to rest is in an alcove of the dining room where my work PC is temporarily on the floor. She sleeps behind the LCD screen and when the PC unit is on, sleeps on top of that as she likes the warmth and vibration :D I call the area 'The Portal' as she seems to guard part of the wall by attempting to out-stare it on occasion.
