Just a little breather

Just for an evening...
In typically understated celebration of Jen's one-way ticket to the UK exactly two years ago ( all bout it here ), we've squeezed in a movie (A Good Year) and pretty much an evening off.

The past week has been wholly saturated with PodshowUK work, and it will start again tomorrow. My task list of Podshow tasks is low, very low, but my list of other items such as get tyres on the car, catch up with tax and accounts, etc, is just growing. But at least until btpodshow.com's impending public beta launch, my life will not be my own. It's exhausting and it's challenging, but the overwhelming sense of being part of something very cool more makes up for the very frequent, very late nights.

I'd like to welcome all the UK podcast shows which have decided to join the Podshow family over the past week - I'll let them decide for themselves when/how/where to announce their affiliations, but each one (I hope) is already somewhere in my collection.

NoodleSpoon almost ready

After hours of not only slaving over the animation and assembly, but also learing previaously underused software, and re-learning long lost skills, the pilot NoodleSpoon episode is almost complete in editing and about to be rendered to video.

NoodelSpoon is a bizarre and freaky combination of stills, animations and audio from wherever the ideas or inspiration come. And there's always one gratuitous fart gag in there, just because farts are funny!

Watch out for the first release of this new baby in just a few hours.

A new show

Diligent observers (like you, of course, dear blog reader) will have noticed an obscure new show appearing in the 'my shows' bit on my profile. NoodleSpoon is a new 2D animation vidcast which I am steadinly churnign out at a few seconds a day - Oh for all the time in the world to get the first episode completed!

Adam Curry asked me to 'just make it funny' and if what's in my head is as funny as I think it is, then, well, you just never know: that coffee-through-the-nose moment might just happen at last. The 'pilot' is likely a couple of weeks off yet, but watch this space formore info.

Back from Edinburgh

A long weekend at the Edinburgh Fringe and some time with mad Scots podcaster Ewan Spence - now back for the exciting wade through the email inbox.

I haven't been to the fringe for three years or so, but it's just as I remember; perhaps a little more intense. Saw a couple of great shows, saw several really, really bad shows (that's bad bad, not good bad), and in exchange for free press tickets to the shows, jEN and I had to write some reviews - which was most fun, particularly on the bad shows! Evil came to the surface and it was genuinely necessary to slice through some of the hype.

This morphed from a simple fun weekend into a semi-work related venture as I was also there to keep an eye out for potential talent for PodShow  - and I'm pleased to say, there was some! Around every corner, a face you recognise, and around every other corner, some form of great entertainment teasing your for attention.

Awesome place - if you ever get the chance to be in Edinburgh during August, don't hesitate.
