Saturday night truck driving special

I posted a couple pictures of my truck to my flickr account. You can see them here on my podshow page. I am currently spending the night at a Pilot in Nitro, WV just west of Charleston on I-64. Driving through the WV mountains with a heavy load is very tiring to say the least. A lot of downshifting and upshifting. In the morning I will continue on to Sturtevant, Wisconsin. I am about halfway there so in about 8 hours or so I should be there tomorrow. My load doesnt deliver though till 4 in the morning Monday, so I will probably find a truck stop nearby to sleep a few hours unless the receiver has overnite parking, which I'm not sure yet. I will continue to keep you up to date and post pictures of my truck driving adventures.

I found a little trick to the wireless internet access here at Pilot. It has worked twice now. I signed up for 24 hour access last nite and when I signed back in this evening I still had an hour and a half left. The thing is, if you just stay signed in and dont sign out, the system doesnt know any better. You can use the internet as long as you want. I checked my account and sure enough I was not charged for any additional use. Now, once I leave here in the morning it will sign me out and then I would have to pay again tomorrow if I wanted to. I think I am going to switch my monthy plan over from Flying J to Pilot. I hate Flying J's already, with a passion. I'll talk about the differences in truck stops later. Good nite!

Frozen Turkeys and the curve balls of life.

Hello everyone

I am currently sitting here at a Pilot truck stop in Dunn, NC. I picked up a load of frozen turkeys today in Mount Olive NC going to Sturtevant, Wisconsin. It doesn't deliver till Monday morning at 4am so I have plenty of time on this load. I am staying over nite here and then will drive about 8 or 9 hours tomorrow and then around 8 hours sunday should get me to the Sturtevant area. I think that is how you spell it. From looking at the map it looks like it is a part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. It is between Chicago and Milwaukee.

This turkey processing plant stunk to high heaven. The entire place, and I'm talking about outside, smelled like death and shit all mixed together. I think it is cuz they were spraying dirty turkey water into a retention pond, where it gets cleaned. I'm not sure I will ever be able to eat turkey again. Who am I kidding, of course I will be able to.

My wife of 4 years and I are getting divorced. We signed separation papers this week. She wants a divorce cuz she says she is no longer in love with me. It hurts but I'm ok and will be ok. My main concern is my 4 year old son Zachary who  I love more than life. I was home this week and I took him to see the movie Ant Bully. It was a cute animated movie and we had a good time. I left out today and I miss him already. He thinks my truck is the coolest thing and I let him blow my air horn. He wouldnt let go though one time and I had to take his hand off of it. Ha Ha.

I think I am going to be doing all of my blogging and podcasting here on the podshow. To me, the podshow is great. It is a combination of several different platforms all into one. At it's essence it is a social networking site, much like myspace, but in my opinion much better, but combined with podcasting. I love it so far. I think I will be blogging about my truck driving adventures. I lost my microphone, dont have money for a replacement just yet and it is easier and quicker to just write an update than to have to record and upload a podcast. But I am not done with podcasting either. I think I will be tailoring my podcast to podsafe music, entertainment, and just cool stuff that I find around the web. So I will be podcasting and blogging in the future. I hope everyone enjoys what I have to say and I hope at least someone is able to get something out of it. Talk to everyone later.

Hillbilly Trucker

ps. I know that country music is what most people think about when they think of truck drivers and I dont really like rap or hip/hop music that much, but there are actually a couple of rap songs out right now that make me think of trucking. And I dont know who sings them, maybe someone else knows. And they are not podsafe I dont believe, but one goes,"Everyday I'm hustlin" That's truckers for sure. And the other one is even newer and goes "They're trying to catch me ridin' dirty" That's the DOT. ha ha.

Some favorite music I&#039m listening to right now
