Content Overload

I listen to Podcasts at work, whilst I drive. My job requires me to drive from customer to customer, repairing their copiers.
I only ever listened to CDs before podcasts, and occasionally radio. I got bored of radio though, and never had any kind of loyalty to the stations. I even listened to BBC Radio 3 for a while (for non UK readers, this is a commercial-free classical and jazz station).
But after hearing about Podcasts on a trailer on BBC Radio Five Live, I investigated further. My first podcasts were Richard Vobes, Le Show, and BBC Film Reviews. Eventually, I explored further, and found more and more content, and my listening tastes altered, and the three podcasts mentioned are no longer on my playlist.

In late July, the main call answerer at work went on holiday, and I had to sit in her place for 2 whole weeks. I couldn't listen to anything, the phone never stopped ringing, and after this arrangement had ended, I was left with over 24 hours worth of Podcasts to listen to.

Some had to go, and others replaced them. I'm now down to about 12 hours.

I don't use an Ipod, or an mp3 player. I use 4 worn Re-writable CDs, and chop the podcasts up to fill the discs up with over 5 hours of content.

The frustrating thing is, it has given me the bug to produce my own content, and that is why I make podcasts, but some ideas have fallen by the wayside, due to the spare time I have left to realise them.

For those of you out there creating shows 5 days a week, I applaud you for having enough time,  ideas, and listener generated content to fill the shows up. For those of you who produce a show every single day, without fail, are you mad? I can't even keep up with listening to it.

Sister&#039s Weding

Recovered from my Sister's Wedding on Sunday.

I had to do a reading at the end of the ceremony, which my Wife kept telling me to rehearse.

I just used a tried and tested method which always works for me: Don't rehearse, deny all knowledge, and just wing it at the last minute.

It worked a treat!

Just getting used to the layout. It's pretty cool, except for one thing.

I, and many other users, didn't realise that  you start as a listener, then add your podcast afterwards, so people hoping to get their Podcast name in the first part of thir "podshow.com" domain, have lost out. Not to worry, people can be fairly Imaginative.

I will put my own Podcast up as soon as I've figured out what I'm doing.
